Is Anthem still offering ironing service? Last I was on, they had a flat rate for a bag you could load up.

Thanks for the info. I suspected as much (and understand) just figured i'd ask.

Does Costa Linda do Day Pass?
Looking for a beach day for 8 adults while in port. Need beach chairs, umbrella or palapa, bar drinks, food & bathroom. Suggestions?
-
We are considering going to Eagle Beach while in port for the day in early May with a group of 8 adults. I am familiar with Moomba'a (and like it) but was looking for a more open place.
Food? Drinks? Bathroom? Chairs/Umbrellas?

Thanks. I got that part about the webpage, but they also describe a messenger app that's free to use onboard. Unless that is now integrated into the web page?

Anybody have experience getting or using this app that a Princess describes in their writings? It's not on the App Store..

Thanks for all the info. We depart Saturday and it shows just 2 ships in ours (Coral) and one Holland Am., so hopefully not too bad. We arrive in Vancouver Friday afternoon. We initially thought we'd have the am free but based on the posts it sounds like a late breakfast & checkout before cab'ing it from the Holiday Inn to the port. No info from Princess but I'll keep an eye out.

We will be visiting it next week. Like the prior poster, we are coupling it with a whale watching trip with Harv & Marv. When they stop for a photo opp on the way back we will stay for a hike & to explore in more detail. We will then take the shuttle for $15pp return ($30 RT) to port. I also read there may now be a fee for the visitor center area but not sure on the effective date. You can also post on the Alaska port of call site but I think you got good info here.

What is the requested (Princess) and more importantly the suggested (cruiser) check-in time for cruising from Vancouver? I printed my boarding pass and looked on line but don't see any time range listed other that ship departs at 4:30p..
-
Other that not having the expense added your your bill at the end of the cruise, is there any advantage to pre-paying for excursions over simply reserving? I'm also assuming if you have a reservation that that's solid and you wont loose your spot. I generally use non-cruise (3rd party direct) excursions but i did pick a couple via Princess for Skagway AK next week.

Unfortunately i learned after booking online that the am tours with Chilkoot were booked.. Had to opt for the standard 8:10 am Summit round-trip train. Reserved that and The 1p zipline through Princess as it seemed to be same price.
-
Book early or call to make your reservation with Chilkoot. Im sure they will know what ships match with departures. There website makes you feel like you are booking a time slot but its actually just a reservation request. I booked the same am trip via the website and booked an afternoon trip to zip line. Then got the reply that their morning trips were full. They seemed good, just wish the availability aspect was more clear. Oh well, we are stuck doing the Summit train up & back.

Thanks peety3. And thanks for staying on point with the question! We enjoy the formal nights, and i'll be bring my suit..

We are on the Coral May 28th northbound AK. What nights are the formals?
More specifically - Does anybody know (not a guess) what days the formal nights are on the Coral's northbound Alaska voyage? I want to see if this may affect port activities.

On the last day of our trip (a Monday) we check out from Denali and eventually have to work our way down to Anchorage for a midnight flight home. Thoughts / ideas on what to do to fill some extra time that day? We may stop in to the Iditarod dog sled headquarters in Wasilla to see the dogs and maybe a brief cart ride. I believe we will still have hours to kill. Other ideas?
We will have had a pretty packed trip:
Visit Vancouver
Northbound cruise on the Coral
Ketchikan - kayaking at Orca Cove
Juneau - whale watch and Mendenhall Glacier visit
Skagway - white-pass train/bus tour & Grizzly Falls zip lining
Depart @ Whittier, Shuttle to Anchorage with wildlife park stop.
Anchorage - pick up car & drive to Denali
Denali - Shuttle trip to Eielson Center
Drive back to Anchorage for midnight flight out
Sleep...
Anything suggested for the evening in Anchorage?

Thanks for the input everyone.

I have done some research and am looking to book for our group of 5 adults (21,24,24,51,52 YO) for our June 1st day in Skagway from Coral Princess (in port 5:30a-8:30p). Looking to do the Chilkoot train/bus (booking direct) leaving @ 7:30a returning 11a, and then Grizley Falls Zip lining at 1p-5p. I can book the zip line either through Princess or direct with Alaska Excursions (they say no restrictions). Princess shows a wider time start/end spread which I assume they are padding a bit since the use the excursions transport. Any advantage/consideration booking via one or the other? We should have up to 2 Hrs between near the port for lunch, exploring a bit. We can also explore a bit when we return at 5p (late dinner). Does this seem realistic or am I missing something? Enough time in Skagway to get the flavor?

I have most of our port excursions for Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway planned out but one to-do list item remaining - seeing some type of dog sled experience. I understand that in 1st week of June there wont be snow and that some do a wheeled cart ride. We will be driving to Denali post cruise and I understand they have something at the park. I also see there is the Iditarod center which we could detour to on our way back to Anchorage. Any experience share on these or others? This will be for myself & wife @ 51, plus three at 21, & 24 YO.

We booked:Orcas Cove kayaking in Ketchikan, whale watching in Juneau with a visit to the glacier.
Thanks for all the input!

Booked on the 14 person boat. Thanks for the input!
-
Any experience share for the 14 passenger boat for whale watch trip? I'm guessing it's a newer option since they don't have a pic of it and most reviews are for the 6 passenger trips. We are a group of 5. The idea of larger boat is appealing for piece of mind if seas are rougher (for motion sickness). It's $20 pp less for the larger. What did you think?

Any kayak trips near glaciers? We will be stopping in Ketchikan, Juneau, and Skagway end of May. Any experience share on suggested kayak trips appreciated.

Thanks for the Q&A offer!
Did they offer a clothes pressing / ironing first day? Like fill a bag for a flat rate?
TIA
