  1. Wow Mike! Great job! I am down 2.4 this week. Just started the DASH diet last Saturday because of my high blood pressure scare last week and it seems to be working so I’m happy about that. Blood pressure is coming down and so is the weight. Plus I am now under 200! Down 6.6 so far total. Our cruise leaves 3/14 so maybe I’ll hit 10+ before then. Have a great week everyone!

  2. Way to go Mike and shooter!! I am down 1.5 this week. Part of that I’m sure is because I ended up in the hospital because of a huge spike in blood pressure and couldn’t eat or drink before a nuclear stress test. Found out my heart is working fine so I just need to keep my blood pressure in line with diet, exercise and losing weight so this forum is the perfect place for me to be right now. I think it’s my body’s way of telling me to take better care of myself so that’s what I plan to do. Have a great week everyone and take care of yourselves!

    Mike, a half a pound is better than nothing! At least it was in the right direction. My half a pound however was in the wrong direction. :( My body tends to do that to me after a decent loss which was 3 lbs last week. But the super bowl and eating out a couple of times I’m sure didn’t help. Oh well, hopefully it will be better next week.

     

    And Diana staying the same is almost as good as a loss! Hang in there!

  4. I can’t believe it’s February already! That means I can now say we leave on our cruise NEXT month! Yikes! I did have a good week though. I made a menu plan for the week and pretty much stuck to it. Had a couple of hiccups but nothing major and then jumped right back on the plan. I was down 3.2 lbs this week! Very proud of myself this week mainly for sticking to my plan and being more aware of what I was eating. 2.5 more lbs and I’ll be under 200! That’s my incentive this week!   5. Well, I ended the week 1/2 lb up but I have a plan for this next week! I made a menu for the week using the Lose Weight By Eating cook book and just got home from the grocery store with the required food so hopefully this week will go much better since I’m more prepared. Our cruise starting March 14th is coming up very quickly so I have to kick it into gear!

     

    Good job Jo on your weight loss and Mike just hang in there!

  6. That’s awesome seawoff! I don’t want to use it as an excuse but it is harder to lose as we get older. I’m 65 and have tried pretty much everything also. Thanks for the tip to use sparkspeople. I will check it out. Don’t worry about gaining on a cruise. There’s plenty of healthy choices and you most likely will be more active. I know I usually am. I usually lose weight on a cruise. Good luck to you and just plan to have fun!

  7. We are at same weight n step goal!! Ihave a home day care... i started at 250 last January was down to 186 thN gained but on way back down:) we got this!!

    That makes 3 of us on this forum, that I know of, starting/starting over at 206. I also love walking but it has been so cold here I haven’t been outside much. May need to break out our treadmill in order to get the pounds to start going down so I can reach my goal. My diet is mainly using portion control and trying to eat mostly healthy foods. Good luck to us all!

  8. Would love to be in this group if it’s ok. I am retired and have become quite lazy so I really need the accountability. We have a cruise booked in mid March and would like to lose before then. I know I’m not going to be able to lose all I need to by then but it will be a start. We then have a family vacation first of June and would like to be at or close to my goal at that time. Thanks in advance for all the support and tips. Looking forward to this journey. My starting weight is 206.
