  1. so what did you think? did it look old? how was the service and food?

We both that some of the improvements were great and the ship looked very nice. The one design flaw that you have heard about being the sinks in the bathroom are very small and you cant fit your hands under the faucet while washing your hands. This is total true and very difficult to deal with. The service and food in the MDR was very good and we actually like the food better than in Chops. For the extra $$, chops just didn't do it for us.

  2. Is it true they stopped putting shampoo in the dispensers in the showers?? Also some people have been complaining of long waits at the bars?? Just wondering-we leave on Monday for a 10 day to Bermuda and hubby not going to be happy if there is a long wait for his beer.

    Thanks

No shampoo in the shower, not even little hotel bottles. What you are hearing from other reviews is completely true. Super long lines at the bar and at drink service around the ship. We purchased the drink package but it got to the point we didn't want to wait the 20 minutes for a drink so you didn't use the package all that much. The refurb is wonderful and the ship looks great but until the staff gets excited about their jobs on a ship the reviews will suffer.

  3. Did you not bring formal clothes? smh

I work in suits every day so I like to get dressed down once in a while. Formal night for me was a dinner jacket and slacks. Honestly, I was probably dressed up compared to the masses. Formal nights are just a way for the ship to sell pictures and get people to buy expensive bottles of wine in my opinion. They need to start enforcing a dress code for formal night dinners in the MDR.

  4. MY wife and I just returned from a 5 night cruise out of FLL. We choose Capt Marvin from the list in GC because of the reviews and they were all spot on. We arrived to the location(directly behind the port shoppes) and we started our city/turtle farm tour promptly on time(GC time). The staff, facilities, etc. were all top notch. Our guide, Jonathan, was great and he really helped us gain knowledge about the island during our city tour. Once our city tour was complete they dropped us off at the next check point for us to begin our stingray tour. The entire crew on the boat was wonderful and we really enjoyed the stingray tour. I would recommend Capt. Marvin's to all visitors looking for a fun day in GC.

  5. Personally I will not get a massage on board ever again, way to expensive and not nearly as good as my therapist here at home. However, I always get the beach massages in port if they are offered at my locations. They are AWESOME, something about the waves crashing in the back ground and the smell of the coconut lotions they use... AWWW cant wait for my sailing in October. :D

Which ports have you done the beach massage?

  6. The wife and I will be cruising Vision in May and we have been thinking about the packages like this. I will get the Ultimate because I drink 4 cups of joe a day. She doesn't drink coffee and might have 1 latte on the trip just to act fancy. If that is the case, then I will order it and give it to her. To me the only difference is the coffee and tea options between the 2 packages.

We also like the idea of pre paying for the top notch package and not being surprised when you order each drink. You would look pretty pissed to order a drink and the bar tender says sorry Mr. Jones, that is not included. I rather pay the extra $10 per day and get my drink fast and not have to worry about signing my account or anything. its a vacation, sit back and relax!!
