Just back from this cruise one of the best we have been on. The weather was great which helped a lot but the places were all lovely. Met some lovely people thanks everyone for making it a good holiday look forward to the next.

YES same here.
I did enjoy the Sailaway from Kristiansand with everyone waving the Union Jacks. Cant decide which port was the best!
I know I got stung for a couple of drinks in Kristiansand So that would probably be near the bottom

We are thinking of booking 14th August on Azura with the saver fare.
We have been on P & O many times but not for the last 4 years. Can you tell me how likely we would be to get our dining preference. We would prefer Freedom dining but second sitting would be ok. First sitting we would hate.
We Have recently returned from the Baltic cruise on Azura. We booked a Saver fare about 2 months before and we were allocated Freedom Dining
I know of others on the cruise who were able to swap to their preferred dining choice

Hopefully someone from P&O is rerading this for market intelligence, so please please please experiment with a Liverpool departure - would Oceana or Aurora be such a risk. It would save me a 5 hour drive, and no overnight accomdation.
TOTALLY AGREE
Hopefully it will happen soon especially with the Cunard Building being brought back into use.

One big bonus for me would be sailings from Liverpool I would never be at home
Yes same here A short ride to the cruise terminal instead of a 6 hour drive to Sohampton You never know it may happen!

I'm looking at an outside cabin on Azura/Ventura on E deck. I understand many of them have obstructed views, I've seen the pics on the P&O website and many of them I would be ok with. However there is a huge amount of white space near these cabins on the deck plans - anyone know what this is?
Hi Sue when are you going? We have been allocated a forward cabin on E deck travelling on the Baltic cruise 29 June If you are going later I could give some feedback on return.

Just back from the Baltics, and;
Stockholm - a bit spread out and I think it would be difficult to walk in. We got the 2 day Stockhom card as we were staying overnight and got the bus from Londonsviadukten (5 mins away, up some steps) to Ridderholmen in old town. You can also change for the underground at Slussen. We saw the palace, did a walking tour, nobel museum, cathedral, boat cruise. On day two we did the Town Hall, was planning the vasa too but sailed at 2pm so skipped it.
Copenhagen - We walked from Langlinie dock past the little mermaid in to the town hall. This was straightforward and scenic but it was an hours hard walk. At 11am we got the Free Copenhagen Walking Tour from the town hall steps, this was 3 hours long and was excellent (and we saw the real Borgen!)
Warnemunde - dock is right at the town, train station is only a few hundred metres. Trains to Rostock run every 15 mins, journey lasts 20 minutes. When you arrive go two levels down to change to the tram to Neumarkt to take you to the old town. Get a map with the main sites from the Tourist info, its easy to walk around.
Kristiansand - a very nice little seaside town rather than a big city. Straightforward 10 minute walk from the ship to the town square. The noddy train seemed overpriced at £15 for such a small place, as it was our last stop we took it easy and ambled around and sat in the sun. Streets are set out in a grid so easy to navigate. From the Cathedral we walked round in a square through old town, along the front, past the fort and back to the ship.
Hope this is useful![/
Excellent.
Thank you for the information

Reading on an iPad. It not only has the iPad book program, but it also has the Amazon Kindle book program.
Not sure what I'll actually be reading in 3 months - that's too far away. Just finished reading "The Girl With The Dragon Tatoo" trilogy.
Using my I pad
If you enjoyed the girl with the dragon tatto trilogy try "The hunger games "by Suzanne Collins

Hello
we are also on this cruise and we look forward to seeing replies as we have never visited the area before and have the same questions.
We intend to do all of these ports with the exception of St. Pete independently
There is a section on CRUISE CRITIC where you can download reviews on each port and they give quite useful information.
On the P&O site there is information on shuttles sorry I can't remember the link but Someone posted it on Cruise Critic.
Stockholm there is a shuttle to City centre chargeable if on saver fare
Helsinki. chargeable shuttle 3.5 km to city centre
Warnemunde. Dock in centre no shuttle
Copenhagen. 10 minute walk into city no shuttle
Kristiansand.noddy train can take passengers into town for a charge but I believe it is walkable.
Hope some of this helps

It is a good job you clarified that 70,s night.
I was going with a grey wig and a zimmer:):)

I was wondering what the implications might be if you where to travel by "an independant coach company" and it broke down?
I believe that cruise connect would hold the ship until you you arrive if that happened though May be wrong!:)

Hi Sunnybrian
That doesn't seem good business for Eavesway.
Just had a look at their web site and there was no mention of a re direct that I could see. It all looks straight forward to book with Eavesway.
We have always booked by telephone with Eavesway and will continue to do so in the future.
Ihave gone through it again and realised what I did!!
I hit the cruise connect button.
Oh well let's see if it is Eavesway as they do show a pickup at 07:45 from Liverpool Norton st.

Hi David
I prefer to take an optimistic 'let's see how it'll pan out' approach to this and see how the Cunard Building works as a terminal first. No it isn't absolutely dockside but it's hardly land locked in the middle of the city centre either.
In respect of the parking/drop off facilities I don't know what's planned but given the vast expanse of the dock area in Liverpool there's surely room for something to built to accommodate vehicles and shuttle passengers to the terminal?
Personally I think it's great news for my city (yep I'm one of those pesky Scousers too :D) and I can't wait to see how it all unfolds.
couldn't agree more and the sooner the better. Off to Soton in 10 days when I wish I could take a 20 minute ride to my pier head and board there. From another "pesky scouser":)
