  1. This entire process has been a goat rope since we booked our next cruise.  We booked  through a big box travel agent and all the information provided to Princess was correct.  A few days after booking the cruise showed up on DW's account but not on mine.  I finally found out that I was assigned a new Captains Circle account number with no past cruises etc.  I wrote an email and talked to the Travel agent and was assured it would be taken care of.  Instead I received an email that said my previous Captains Circle number was correct and to use it, but they were unable to cancel the new CC number at this time.  Since we were able to manage the cruise through my DW's account or through the booked guest account procedure, that was OK, for now.  Today, I can't get online to manage our cruise through any of our accounts or the booked guest account.  Fortunately,  we several months before our cruise and I am cautiously optimistic this too shall pass.

To answer your question:  we wear masks because vaccination does not keep us from picking up the virus and transmitting it to an unvaccinated person.  So, not wearing a mask means we each are knowingly transmitting the virus to other people.  No way to tell if you are, but the mask IS the way to know that you are not.

I just want an easy conscious about not passing it along to someone who could die.

If you think you should wear a mask, then wear a mask.  As for me, as I stated, if I do not have Covid 19 and have been vaccinated, then I agree with the new CDC policy. I will wear a mask to shop in stores, or other places that require masks, but once outside, I remove it immediately.

Today the CDC is announcing easing of restrictions that includes no masking outdoors OR indoors (in most places) for those that are vaccinated.  If all cruise pax and crew are vaccinated then we should all be golden, right?  Why would different rules apply whether you are on land or on a cruise ship?  Vaccinated is vaccinated, right?  I am not looking for an argument, I'm just saying that logic and sound reasoning should dictate that it would apply that way.

That's what I have been saying as well, and I agree with you.

  4. I really don't feel like I'm" one of the lucky ones.'  The vast majority of healthy people, even if they get Covid 19 will not die.  I have taken precautions,  as necessary,  to be safe but refuse to stop living my life.  I'm vaccinated, so I really don't care if other people are.  In regard to not knowing what rinydink masks are, they are the preponderance of masks worn by people I see everyday.  They are cheap imports from China or home made masks for people trying to do what they think is "meeting the requirement" to wear a mask.  Most of those masks are worthless from preventing  people from getting covid 19, but meets the requirement to wear a mask. N95 masks are better than most, but according to medical professionals I have talked too, even though they are better, they will not prevent covid 19.  We can agree that the sooner this is over, the sooner we can get back to cruising.

  5. This is a small step in the right direction. We have been vaccinated and have never had Covid-19, so if we are tested and have been vaccinated why do we have to where a mask in any setting?  These rinkeydink masks do not protect us from getting covid and if we don't have covid we can't spread it.  We love cruising and we hope by 2022 we are done with this nonsense and can get back to having another wonderful vacation on Princess.  YMMV

  6. I really don't know what will happen with the Enchanted Princess, but doubt the 2021 sailings will go as scheduled.  We were booked on February 6th 2021, but have cancelled.  We have decided not to cruise in 2021, but will revisit cruising in 2022.  Good luck to everyone who continues to cruise and stay safe.

I am being civil. Just want to know why, when most countries experiencing rapid growth of COVID cases are issuing stay at home orders and lots of cruise lines are stopping cruises, people still want to pay good money to go on a floating Petrie dish.

We agree with you.  We are booked on the Enchanted in Feb 2021 and have already decided to cancel that cruise.  At this time, we are not planning on any future cruises, on any cruise line.  As much as we have loved cruising, our cruising days may be over.

Would the forward cabins on Marina be considered sufficiently insulated by the Lido cabins above ?

This is regarding noise transfer from the forward Sun deck area.

As long as you have cabins above you, I see no problem at all.  There may be some noise during the day, but I doubt  it would bother you.  We are staying on that deck, a few cabins forward of the elevators, so I hope I'm correct. 😎

You download the Ocean Ready app to your smartphone. You input your cruise reservation#,passport#,and take a picture of yourself.  Once all that is complete you click on order ocean medallion.  It then gives you option to have it mailed to your home or pick up at the port.

We did all of this a couple of weeks ago, and requested it be mailed to us.  Some in our party received their medallions last week, the rest of us did not.  We will receive our medallions on the ship.  So, I guess it's a coin toss. 🤔

  10. My advise would be to go on the Regal Princess. Book through a travel agent and you will get onboard credit. Princess also will give you onboard credit if you served in the military. With this onboard credit the price is a lot closer than you think. If both of you do not want the drink package, Princess allows just one person in the cabin to purchase it, Carnival does not. I have been on a lot of Carnival Cruises and IMHO if you want a relaxing, quiet cruise, Carnival would not be my choice.
