  1. We have sailed Navigator ( our first cruise) then 2 more Regents and sailed O with 2 more booked.

Both are great small ship cruising. Service is wonderful. I would not do less than a Penthouse on O unless Vista. The bathrooms were tiny in a balcony.
Regents rooms on newer ships are superb layout and design.

Food is great on both, we don’t do shows much so no help there.
I usually base decision on if I prefer excursions on our own. We booked our own in Med and on USA East Coast so Regent not an option. Panama Canal sailings I am not going to wander off so Regent worked well. ( Do note not a lot of night life on either line as say Holland)

  2. Hello, late to party but on Explorer now, did not sign up for CC Meet and Mingle, went to reception they told me since I was not on manifest for the get together nothing they could do. Anyone on here know how I can join at this point?  I think it’s tomorrow. Our first sea day.

    Thank you

  3. Thank you all, you have given me some great seating tips, we are looking forward to exploring the Explorer.

TC. Thank you for Prime 7 info and all the rest, hubby LOVES Prime 7, hoping to get more than 1 night.

We have similar American Airlines issue, we actually found cheaper to fly to Ft Lauderdale and shuttle or Uber to Miami port. Thank you so much for posting during  spotty internet and on your Vacay.

  4. We have sailed 1 Regent to Alaska. Then 2 Oceana, 1 a reg balcony 2nd time in a Neptune Suite. Go for the Suite. We enjoyed both lines very much. Yes it’s an older crowd, but that’s ok for us, we do very use port days and come back have a great 2 hour dinner a walk then bed. Bathrooms in the suites or on Regent are huge.

This spring I a taking a Royal with Freedom of the seas with a group , the ONLY reason I agreed was we are doing the Presidential suite which gives us one nice perks. I am not trying to be posh but after sailing smaller ships the idea of cattle calls does not sound fun. Am a bit concerned about food- I like good food and I have allergies so I am getting a speciality dining package. I think the adage you will enjoy it if you want to applies, plus pick your itinerary and active level, plus how much luxury you want. There are cruise lines for all.

  5. hi, a group of us are sailing in The Villa Suite plus one couple in an Owners Suite. I know there are cocktails of an evening in concierge lounge but are there wines and beers during day?

We have 4 who drink and 4 who don’t so we don’t want to have to buy bev package. We do have 2 separate reservation numbers and it so happens drinkers are on one number, non drinkers on another, but I don’t know if 4 can have bev pack and 4 not. Thank you.

  6. Just got back from Barcelona to Venice on Oosterdam. We used RIL in Rome. Franco whisked us from port to Colisium for first tour, he got us to our tour guide and exchanged phone numbers with her. So so glad he did it was a celebration day in Rome and our tour was done as parade was going on. The guides were able to talk, and Franco walked across street to get us to take us to a lively lunch spot. Then all around Rome rest of afternoon. Very little walking for us then and no worries. Perfect day. Thanks Franco.
