  1. Hello.

We would really like to "unplug" but also want to keep in touch with our 2 kids (14 & 22), must we have a wifi package for that?

We all have Droid phones thru MetroPCS, so if we switch to airplane mode, can we still text without roaming charges? I am absolutely clueless, so if anyone can help, I'd appreciate it.

    Thanks.

PS we're on the Sunshine in July, so I'm pretty sure the Hub app is not available yet.

  2. Hello,

I am looking to snorkel in a couple of weeks at Grand Turk. I have snorkeled in Honduras, Belize, Mexico, St. Thomas, St Maarten, and anywhere else we've been, and I have NEVER had a problem. It's one of my favorite things to do and this will be my first time in Grand Turk, so I can't wait to see the breathtaking sea views that I've read about.

The problem: So many have recommended White Sands, Blue Divers and GTDive, but all of their websites state a weight limit, which I exceed. (I have also never seen this before) Any suggestions as to how I can get out to "the Wall" and experience this amazing port?

    Thanks.

  3. Hello,

Sailing on the Sunshine in a few weeks. Does anyone know the menu details for that ship?

I was on the Ecstasy in the spring, and saw lots of fried chicken as an option ...... I'm guessing that was the "new American" menu? It seems everyone is very excited about the change, maybe I'm missing something?

    Thanks.

  4. Hello,

We are sailing on the Sunshine on July 10. I was told by a Carnival reservations agent that all dining was included, with the exception of the Steakhouse and the Italian restaurant (although the pizza is free).

Can someone please clarify this? I'm confused. And I also asked the agent where I could find the info on what is included and what is a fee, regarding food. She had no answer, except for the above.

    Thanks for your input.

  5. Mitsugirly,

I looked at your underwater photos and they are fantastic!!

Can you please tell me what kind of camera you used?

I love snorkeling, and it's nice to know that I don't HAVE to book an excursion to see a few things.

    Thanks!

  6. We used Eagle Ray a couple of years ago for a snorkel tour and were happy. Since then we have been snorkeling from shore at the Money Bar - great facilities, rental gear, etc. and no fee - and the post snorkel margaritas are great! :D About a $10 cab ride from the piers.

No matter how much research I do, regarding snorkeling, I keep hearing about The Money Bar! Can you really see much, just going out from the beach? Is it super crowded? Seems like the whole world knows about it! I will look at the website to check snorkel rates, etc.

    Thanks for the info.

  7. When you said hard stuff I thought you were referring to the liquor lol. I used this packing technique in a large 24" suitcase so I just put the hard items in the empty spaces in the suitcase and packed other things in another 20" suitcase.

Yes, I was talking about the liquor :) so.......what size bottle are we talking about? Metal cap vs. plastic cap? Just looking to bring a little spiced rum and/or vodka.

    Thanks.

  8. Wow. That is the absolute coolest packing process I've ever seen!! I travel a lot, so I will definitely put that into practice.

As far as the Rum Runners ....... I clicked on the website. I'm not really understanding how that relates to how you packed the hard stuff.

I've heard of pocket shots? No clue what that is. Is it true that if I just pack some small plastic capped bottles, they won't be detected?

    Thanks

  9. I am heading out on the 11th of April and will be in Cozumel on 4/15. We are docking from 1:30-10:30. I believe we are at Puerta Maya

This is her first cruise, she is interested in snorkeling but most of all shopping! I really wanted to avoid the 52 million Tanzanite stores and get some authentic shopping in. If the town square is being demolished/renovated, do you have any other suggestions for us?

Any snorkel tours (non cruise) that you can recommend?

Thanks for any tips and suggestions.

  10. Hello

I've really enjoyed your review of the Ecstasy, we are leaving in a couple of weeks, and it's a first time cruise for my friend. At first, I was concerned about the size and age of the ship but I think it will be great for her.

And based on your review, it has a lot more than I realized! Glad the food was so good. The last time I tried to get hard stuff on board, I got busted. Can you tell me what the wine protocol is and also how you packed other stuff in your suitcase? I used to be very adept, but now I've lost my nerve lol.

    Thanks.
