  2. We just returned from our POA cruise and after itinerary changes more times than I want to count we did get to arrive in Hawaii. My DD, DGD, and I booked both the Hilo and Kona side with Marylou and Ken. This is my favorite island and I could not wait to share with my DD and DGD then the volcano erupted and things changed. NCL canceled plans to stop at this island and when it appeared after a few weeks NCL would not change this we canceled our tours. Even with the loss of revenue this couple could not have been more gracious or kind and handled our cancellation beautifully. Then a few days before we sailed we found out we would be stopping in Hawaii. I sent an email and both days were rebooked for us. We did end up changing to a private tour on the second day at the last minute when my DD asked Marylou during our tour the first day about a beach trip and a tour the second day instead. Marylou worked it out with Ken and the next day we had husband Ken as our tour guide and beach person.

I cannot come up with all of the words to describe how nice they both were to the three of us. Ken even got in the water with my DD and DGD (9). I have a brace and sometimes it is hard to move about and other times I can walk almost normally but every stop both Marylou and Ken checked on my status for the activity and got as close as they could to an entrance. The kindness they showed my DGD who fell in love with her Miss Marylou and Mr. Ken meant so much to me.

If you want great tours with really nice folk who are a wealth of knowledge throughout your tour and smiles on their faces this is the tour for you.

Agree they are fantastic! Booked with them in March...loved both Hilo and Kona! They are very knowledgeable and friendly. Going in a group of 5 or 6 is the best! Book them early!

  3. Sorry to hear you had a bad experience with JohnnyCab but there are many of us (check out TA and CC) who have had great service. We used JohnnyCab 3 Times on recent Hawaii Trip. All three times we had Ben as our driver. He was on time, polite, friendly and a great driver. We set up our transfer from airport to hotel on website and had excellent communication. We used text message for other two rides and received instant replies. It was a pleasure to deal with JohnnyCab. We saved money and time by not having to wait for a shuttle to fill up. Shuttles were $25 for each person, JohnnyCab was $25 total for two people.

  4. Ejccgma , thanks for the review. I was wondering, for the Super Ambassador package, did you do the Ali'l Luau or the Prime Rib dinner and based on what you did and saw, which would you recommend?

We did the Luau and thought the food was very good and the luau entertainment also fun. Can’t say anything about Prime Rib dinner since we didn’t try it. Didn’t hear any comments from anyone either.

  5. We used Marylou’s Big Island Tours in March 2018. Same stops as Aina Tours...only 4-6 people. One of the very best tours and not expensive! We also used for Kona because we were so impressed.

  6. March 2018 - We loved House without a Key...beautiful setting, music and former Miss Hawaii hula dancer. Food was delicious! There is part of the tree still there behind stage...gorgeous! We also ate at Hula Grill and loved it too! Got there at 5:30 and had seat right at rail to watch band perform at Duke’s and beautiful sunset. You have to share some Hula pie...the best dessert!

  7. How many people were on your Pearl Harbor tour? What type of vehicle did they use? Were there multiple pickup locations? I want to avoid a huge tour bus which stops at multiple places before heading to Pearl Harbor.

Did the tour include the actual boat trip to the Arizona Memorial?

It was a mini-bus, we had about 16-20 on bus. We were dropped off third at our hotel, not sure how many stops. Yes, the tour includes the entrance fee for museums, movie and boat ride to the Arizona Memorial.

  8. Oahu

We did the Super Ambassador Package at Polynesian Cultural Center.

We loved it and a great way to start our 10 day vacation. We were definitely treated like VIPs and felt it is worth the money. We had our own guide(Sam) & he was very friendly and informative. He made sure we were able to see all shows (front row seats) & participate in activities. We relaxed and enjoyed the day as Sam took care of all details. We thought the food and entertainment at luau was excellent and the theater production Ha-Breath of Life was spectacular!

The next day, we used Hawaii Jeep Tours for Circle Island Tour. Saw all the different landscapes and interesting stops. Our guide was Travis and he really was knowledgeable and customized the tour for us. Saw Dole Plantation, Downtown Honolulu, Banzai Pipeline, Haleiwa Town, and Waimea Bay to name a few stops. Had great food at Mike’s Food Truck and stopped at Leonard’s for malasadas. Loved this private fun tour and recommend!

Before getting on the POA ship Saturday, we booked Discover Hawaii Tours for Pearl Harbor/Historical Honolulu. Picked us up in a minibus promptly at 9 and headed to Punchbowl National Cemetery and Pearl Harbor. Driver/Guide gave us good information and handed us the tickets for the movie and ride to Arizona Memorial. We met afterwards for quick tour of downtown. He did stop to let us get out and take pictures.Dropped us off at hotel at 1:30pm. Plenty of time to grab our luggage and get taxi to port. Very happy with this company!

    Maui

Used Aina Lahaina Taxi (met right outside of Kahului Port) to go on our own to Lahaina for 3 hours, then took us to Ka’anapali Beach for 3 hours. Enjoyed lunch at Hula Grill on Beach. Great reliable, friendly, reasonable clean cab company. Set up a few weeks before we left home and asked for a price quote. Gave us cell number in case we needed. Would definitely use again!

    Hilo and Kona

Used Mary Lou’s Big Island Guided Tours-Private after reading 5 star reviews on CC and TA. Exceptional tours, reasonable prices, and Mary Lou was knowledgeable, friendly and shared her love of the Island. We were able to see all the highlights and more of Hilo and Kona because we did not have to wait for 30-40 people to get on and off a bus. Talked to other cruisers and staff who were amazed at everything we got to see on our excursions.

    Kauai

We used Hawaii Jeep Tours again because we saved about $115 by booking them for both islands. Both times it was just the two of us with the guide so we got to go at our pace and select what we wanted to experience. Our guide was D.J. and he was fantastic. We loved the Waimea Canyon, Spouting Horn blowhole and Waipoo Falls. Check this Company out for your sightseeing excursion from port.

  9. Did a fabulous private excursion last year on St. Lucia... one of the best ever. Find out more information from Cosol Tours...google or TA or CC. It is very reasonable and the four of us would do it again. See all the highlights of Island, plus food and drinks!

  10. We are planning on taking a tour of Oahu after our Pride of America cruise. Looking for suggestions on what to do with our luggage while we are touring. I saw where you can leave it at the airport for $20 a bag [emoji15] Any suggestions of something cheaper or a better idea than that? Does anyone know how early you can check in baggage for a flight at the airport? Thanks!

We are planning on leaving it at Port, $5 a bag, because we are going to walk around downtown, Chinatown, after cruise.
