  1. we did the Beach Club with an overwater floating cabana- AMAZING and worth every penny.  Between the cabana attendant who brought us as much food as we could eat, brought drinks all day, the mini fridge stocked, towels, shower and slide!  Filet and lobster- literally we could not eat all he brought.  Only drawback was that the bathrooms were a little far but they are building new ones closer in the next few months.

  2. Just got off the NCL Breakaway this am. The only place we would have wanted rubles was the water vendors at Peterhof. Otherwise, there was either no opportunity to shop or they took card/euro. We grabbed some at an ATM (not for 7%fee at port) for our guises tip- but with better planning could have used euro/USD.

  3. So NCL offered a free shuttle to the train station and free train tickets in to Stockholm. You had to sign up in advance. Stromma went from the port into the city center and then back to the port without dealing with the train. That was the positive. However because the guys work on commission, they didn’t want to leave the port until the bus was full. So we waiting an hour and a half extra- the bus finally left at 930 for the hour drive into the city center. We had to be back on the bus by 430 to return to the port. All in all, it was a good thing the port time was extended or we would have had zero time in Stockholm. In the end, we took the bus, got on the boat, went to the Vassa and ABBA museums, had lunch and got back on the bus to the port. Stromma should be more up front. Either post times they are leaving or be transparent that they aren’t leaving until either “ the bus is full or it’s been 1 and a half hours”.

  4. The bus just left an hour and a half after we boarded with the same 20 people. The driver wouldn’t leave because he works on commission. NCL didn’t make the decision for Stromma to sit for 90 minutes while they tried to sell more tickets. Also- the advertised WiFi - no one can log on. Stromma has misled us both online and on the phone- there have been plenty of customer service issues with NCL but this one rests on Stromma.

  5. a warning for those arriving in Nynashan. 1st- NCL Breakaway offered free transfers in to Stockholm but we had already booked with Stromma since NCL denied until almost April that we were docking anywhere but Stockholm. 2nd. We were told by Stromma to get off the boat ASAP because the bus would fill quickly and they are only sending 2. Well- we got off the boat quickly, made our way to the bus and here we have been sitting for about an hour. They won’t leave UNTIL the bus is full. There are 20 people on a bus that seats 89. The driver didn’t know there would be free shuttles and he works on commission so he isn’t leaving until there are more people on the bus. We are also hearing that the free shuttles are only to the train station where you have to take the train into Stockholm. What a complete mess!!!

  6. We booked on the Breakaway with a Stockholm itinerary. Saw a post somewhere that allowed you to look up the actual docking port. Alas, Nyn. it is. So we booked the HOHO bus that will pick us up in Nyn next week. Of course WEEKS after doing that, we got an email from NCL that there is a port change and they are offering a free transfer to Stockholm. We are sticking with the HOHO as we won't have to deal with figuring it out in the city but really??? NCL knew many weeks prior to our notification that they weren't docking in Stockholm. SMH.

  7. Oh I know that we are docking in Nynashamn - not Stockholm. My point really is that NCL is being deceitful in putting Stockholm on the itinerary when it clearly isn't NOR are they making transfers available - at least not that I can find on their website. I've probably spent 6 or 7 hours looking at other possibilities since the time is so limited- if you use the public transportation, you are losing a minimum of 3 hours on your "8" hour port day. Just seems that NCL could be more upfront and do a better job of helping people get to Stockholm.

  8. I've gotten picked up by both lyft and uber at mco. Several times.

How long ago? About 2 years ago there was a big brouhaha withUber and Disney Magical express and they put a stop to it. When I flew home last Sunday one of my travel mates tried to call Uber and was told they are not allowed and there are hefty fines if you are caught. You can take an Uber TO MCO however.

  9. I live in Orlando. First, Uber is not allowed to pick up at the airport. Not sure how that’s controlled but they are very strict about it. Second, if you have to stay overnight here, just stay at the airport Hyatt. We really don’t have public transport here and it will be quite expensive to get downtown (and there are only a couple hotels). Miami is a solid 4 hour drive-there is no public transport. For all that $ on cabs and hotel, take a 30 minute flight. .

  10. Elliein NJ: we are cruising in May and the BA is listed for Nynashamn. :o The sad thing is, we are not going trough the archipelago.

Our May itinerary for “Stockholm” says we are doing the archipelago the night we depart Stockholm for our fun day at sea heading to Copenhagen. Wonder what the truth is as there isn’t even a hint that we are actually docking an hour away from the city anywhere on the NCL site!

  11. I have a party of 5- 2 parents and 3 kids- 20, 18, and 15 when we sail. We wanted to put the kids in a room and us in a room like we normally do on cruises...Parents had to split up since the 20 year old who lives by herself in US cant be the oldest on the boat in the room across the hall from us! When we made the reservation, the guy booked me ( mom) with the girls and dad with the son. He told us just to switch when we get on board.
