Always a great idea to research your options - google flights, flight aware, your preferred airline, alternate airports - before picking up that phone. The supplier - Regent - or whomever may also have access to other itineraries/air carriers which do not show up for you. You can never over prepare for a conversation with the air department.

Just got this email regarding a change in custom air
Dear Valued Guest and Travel Partner,
We would like to advise you of a change to our custom air process.
As our airline partners continue to rebuild their operations, we have found that customizing air at 270 days prior to sailing can result in significant schedule changes.
Therefore, to minimize the number of changes and to avoid the need to rebook flights, we are moving the date where guests can submit a custom air request to 210 days from departure.
At Regent Seven Seas Cruises, we strive to provide An Unrivalled Experience, which includes providing the best possible service before you have even stepped on board, and with this change we are confident we can help streamline your custom air needs in the future.
Thank you for your continued patronage, loyalty, and understanding as we continue to improve our custom air reservation policies and procedures.
Your Regent Custom Air Department Team
Thank you.

Good to know, thank you for your information.

We disembarked Miami and used Regent's bus transportation to MIA. Next time, I would take Uber, taxi or private transport. Have taken Uber quite successfully. Much more convenient and relaxing than on and off the bus with 45-50 other airport bound guests.

We ended up booking the ama cruise starting 12/23.This will be our first with ama. We’re looking forward to the experience. We were a little disappointed we couldn’t book one of the larger cabins since we’re celebrating our 50th but we wanted to be on a ship that day. We’re planning to do an independent Jordan trip post cruise. Pre-cruise will be dependent on airfare.
You may wish to inquire about AMA’s chefs table for the evening. Separate dining room No additional charge and a special meal. Sign up at reception or with the cruise manager.

This is insane!
I think all Regent passengers should know exactly what the new procedures are regarding the Air Department.
With your permission, I am going to drop a letter to form a new post, "This is inane!" (thanks for your inspiration)

I paid in full today for a Dec 22 cruise and took the opportunity to talk with my TA about my May 23 cruise. We went over the new Regent Custom Air form process since that opens up for me on Aug 12 and I wanted a 3-way call. She spoke to Regent to confirm. Below is what she was told
“As for your May2023 cruise, Christopher the agent that I spoke with said that only if you leave 30days or less before departure they would be able to do the phone conference for the air. He also said, there is no form that he is aware off and I need to call in your air request.
It appears my TA gets a different answer to questions every time she speaks to Regent. I’m about ready to just book my own air so I don’t have to deal with Regent. Maybe that’s their goal.😕
Sounds about right!

Agree @Dwtlion. We prefer to deal directly with the Air Department. Our TA is busy enough already, without having to be the go-between for air matters that we'd prefer to handle ourselves. @Mike Moore Hope Regent will consider this option.
Me too!

Question: if my TA informs Regent Air that they can deal directly with me, can the air deviation form be on my account for access and completion?
Like many RSSC passengers, I am an experienced traveler who is particular about flights and airlines.
To keep passing requests and my answers thru a TA is a total waste of their time! Also, there is a chance that my flight choices may have a surcharge due to fare increases. If I give 3 flight choices, I will want to know the surcharge for each so I can consider going with the lowest surcharge. Why unnecessarily get my TA involved in these decisions? She adds nothing to the process.
Excellent points.

@RetroRod Thank you for reaching out to me. To clarify, due to all the reasons pointed out in Jason Montague's video posted on this thread, the Custom Air Department is experiencing a very high volume of phone calls to their direct number, which is causing very long hold times - and the majority of the calls they are taking are for new requests. As these new requests can be taken by our general reservations agents, by routing the calls to that larger team instead, we are freeing up the Custom Air agents to be able to work with the airlines on all of the requests in the queue. As Jason also mentioned, in the next week we’ll also be launching the online form for Custom Air requests to further alleviate the need to call to submit a request.
Regent has almost doubled the amount of our air agents and continues to hire more, however training takes time as each airline has different classes of service for contracts, plus we have certain time windows, based on ships departures guest must arrive within.
If flights are cancelled day of, the airlines take complete control of the inventory and route guests accordingly. If guests do have an emergency during our hours of operation, our reservation team will connect them to an air agent. Outside of our normal business hours, for emergency services, guests can call our regular 800 number and press 7, and be connected to our afterhours emergency service group. I hope this provides additional clarity. Thanks all for your patience!

Reviewed post#57. In my account, for a cruise in May 2023, I have Customize Shore Excursions, Customize Butler Service and Roundtrip Air, NO CUSTOMIZE TAB. Do you have to be within the 270 day window to get that tab?? Sure would be nice if Regent was a little more forthcoming with info. Jennefer what say you???
It is here:

Just checked my account. No place to customize air travel. I’ll see if my TA can shed any light on this “new and improved” process. This shouldn’t be this hard!
Kindly see post #57 I hope that this helps.

I can submit flights August 24.
Final payment for that cruise is November 24. Hopefully it won’t take three months to get flights booked !
Curious about August 24th?

This new process is going to be very difficult for people who are not experienced in researching flights.
Agreed.

Once we submit our desired flights we won’t even hear back for 10 days. Probably only to be told Regent doesn’t have a contact on those flights. Then another email back to request flights once again. Wow…. Lots of emails !!
Yes, It would seem so. If you go ahead with a request, kindly advise us how it goes. Thanks.

I just looked at my Regent account and there is nothing there. Are you saying is under "My to do list"? I don't see there. That's the place to book excursions, tours, etc. I have three cruises booked and it does not show under any.

Where will this form be located for use?
The form and an explanation of the process is in your Regent account, same place where you book excursions, dining, etc.

We have been on numerous Princess cruises. Nothing will compare to our WC. Be prepared for lots of kids, noisy casino, lots of drunks and ok food. It would be better to compare it to RC or Carnival. Viking is in its own class. We are doing the Viking from Bergen to New York next summer and doubt it will compare to our WC.
Hello, Idpetrillo. On a Viking sailing which begins in Bergen, just learned that there is a one-stop into Bergen from Frankfurt. Used to be two stops into Bergen on Lufthansa. Just fyi.
