  1. Hi everyone, we have our cruise booked for the 4th August and have just got our final tickets. We booked the drinks package and it doesn't show up on our tickets, is it supposed to? Or would we be ok just taking our booking invoice along? Thanks :)

  2. Sorry to exclude everyone else on here, but the American cruise lines only offer symbolic weddings on board from the UK and that's not really for me :o

My fiancé and I are currently looking into getting married on a cruise, mainly for the fact that my family is so huge a regular wedding is going to cost us a fortune. So far we have 6 definite attendants - us, my parents, my sister and her boyfriend. We were looking into P&O for the fact they cruise from the UK and your wedding is registered in Bermuda, but I'm really wondering where to start! We're looking at late 2016, obviously the itineraries/pricing aren't out but we can get an idea. I know I'm being a bit eager haha!

Any input/reviews would be much appreciated! :)

  3. We have booked 2 rooms and only added 1 name to the 2nd room. The 1st person had a reduced deposit (booked on board). When we added the 2nd person they had to pay full deposit (added on land). I have also booked a room for friends that were not on board. I just paid the deposit. I'm planning to book a room for friends in 2 weeks while cruising on Solstice. Richard

Ah I'd be booking for my fiancé anyway so I know all the details and would be paying his deposit anyway :) we don't get reduced deposits though as we're in the UK so it makes little difference but might as well sort it out on board!

  4. Apologies if this is the wrong place, let me know if you can't help and I'll ask on the Royal forum instead :o I did have a quick look and couldn't spot the answer to my question so I apologise if it's already floating around somewhere.

    There's a couple of things I would like to know about booking on board on my upcoming Infinity cruise;

    1. We are booking 2 cabins for 2 people, but we are travelling with 1 cabin of 3 on this cruise. Do we need any specific details apart from the 4th passengers name?

    2. Do you get any OBC for booking Royal onboard Celebrity?

Just in case you don't spot it I am UK based so I know I won't get the reduced deposit already :)

Many thanks for those of you that are able to help :)

  5. Does anyone have a currant Bar Menu with drink prices. Something from April or May of 2014.

I really wouldn't trust a list posted by someone calling themselves Celebrity Cruises, Hey, that could have been me who knows:rolleyes:

The person in charge of the forum stated yesterday that all cruise lines have to contact them first in order to create an account on the forum and have it authorised as an official account. So I'd take it that it is official, and so far that list is the official list.

  6. I toss them the day after I use them. I never save them. Each cruise is a new experience. Be open to new experiences. Your cruise might have a deck party or some other event. Not every cruise has the same events. Just relax and enjoy whatever events happen on your cruise. There were many changes on the Summit...some good, some bad. I had a nice time.

I honestly never keep mine either. I don't really see the point, I remember my cruise beyond the list of daily activities.

  7. I think you will find the white party is on NCL, white hot party they call it. Dress in white and dance.

I was just about to say, that's the only 'white party' I've ever seen on a cruise. Don't remember one on Infinity last year and despite the weather on the cruise I definitely don't remember a deck party at all!

  8. It always confuses me when people post that the Maitre'D was really helpful with their dietary requirements because when we were on Infinity he just told us to talk to our waiters as it wasn't his problem.

Either way, we did speak to our waiters and luckily my mum's only lactose intolerant which wasn't a problem, as anything that includes lactose is marked on the menu. Our waiter also sorted out lactose-free desserts for her every night, some were ok, some were bad but others she had were amazing :) Wasn't so much a problem at the buffets as she didn't really struggle to find anything to eat there.

  9. Surely it depends whether the itinerary is more important? I'm sure you can have a fantastic holiday no matter what the ship is, but if you desperately want that itinerary (from what I've seen most cruise lines have put their small ships in Venice due to uncertainty of port regulations for next year) I'd go for it if the itinerary is more important, or if the ship is more important the only option really is to go elsewhere instead as I'd doubt any line has put a bigger ship in Venice for next year.

  10. Thank you, that makes sense.

There are no outside cabins on Britannia just inside or balconies and some of the obstructed balconies were cheaper than the best insides!

They might have more serious obstructions like the window cleaning machines then, but if you're wanting to book I'd ring them and ask how bad the obstructions are. Either way, I think I'd rather have a balcony no matter how obstructed it is when it's cheaper than an inside!

  11. What does an obstructed view balcony mean exactly? I see they have them on Britannia. Do they have a pole through or something? Or are there other things. Seems an odd thing to have an obstructed view on a balcony.

If it helps on Celebrity ships a lot of the obstructed view balconies just have lifeboats in front of them, you can still see but you just can't see straight down. It'll probably be a similar case on Britannia I would've thought.

  12. I am booked on the Silhouette Italy and Croatia Cruise leaving in 38 days and nothing anyone posts on these boards will I allow to take away the joy and excitement I have in looking forward to this cruise with my family .

For weeks now there has been so much negativity on these boards and I know its called Cruise Critic and everyone has an opinion and people SHOULD post when something has upset or disappointed them, (unfortunately I have had to do so in the past ) however it doesn't matter how much I read about cuts, changes and complaints my spirits will not be dampened. Im just too excited to be going on another cruise !

If I get 11 days of better weather and better food than I normally get at home with the added bonus of beautiful surroundings both on and off the ship and meeting the same friendly, attentive staff and pleasant fellow cruisers that I always do then I will be more than happy.

If I have a miserable cruise with a list of complaints which I doubt, then I will come back and report but until then I am only thinking of the positives of this cruise and as the lyrics in Pharell Williams song 'Happy' that constantly plays in my head says

    " Can't nothing bring me down, My level's too high " :D

    Happy Cruising to all :D:D:D

I'm exactly the same! I go on my cruise the day after you and honestly can't wait! It's the only thing I have to look forwards to atm because of Uni exams

So refreshing to see someone on here that's just happy to be going on their cruise and not complaining about cutbacks :D

  13. Maybe I don't drink enough, but from what they have posted it looks like they have enough things included on the classic package. JMO

I don't think the problem is what's included, it's more that the UK website has a rather extensive list of what's included and then they get on board to find out a lot of it has been moved up to the premium package. Not a deal-breaker for me as I'm sure I can find something to drink (I'm not exactly picky :D), but I can understand why it would be frustrating.

  14. Because we only sleep/shower/change there and aren't claustrophobic, we book insides on every cruise with one exception. We got an oceanview this time so we could get the drinks package included. I don't count getting upgraded to an oceanview for free on MSC because we did have the inside cabin booked and didn't do anything to change the cabin category. It was quite nice to find out, but a bit of a waste when my sister would get angry at me for opening the curtains because she enjoyed the all-inclusive package too much the night before...

  15. It would appear that the price has been increased as the ship is now based in the UK.

We did a cruise on the Independence of the Seas a few years ago which was the first cruise after her TA and the B2Bers were complaining that the drinks had gone up!

Must remember not to cruise with Celebrity in Europe.

I don't think they actually increase the price, just due to some UK law they have to include the 15% service charge within the price rather than charging it on top of the listed price. So $8 plus 15% as would be the norm for US sailings is listed as $9.20 on the UK sailings as it already includes the service charge. Hope that makes sense!

That said though they do seem to be bumping up the price of some previously included drinks in the classic package so they are now only in the premium package, annoying yes, but I'm sure I won't struggle to find anything in June :D
