Obstructed View on Dawn???

Has anyone been in an obstructed view cabin on the Dawn? If so - how obstructed is the view - do you see anything or just daylight?

We are seriously considering a Dawn 9 Day for next year and I am looking at cabins.

I have been on the Obstructed view cabin on the star which is almost idential to the dawn, the view is different in every room on Deck 8, it depends the position with the life boats, some cabin will have full side window which you'll see the top of the boats or some will have 2 very skinny tall window. The picture I have attached is Cabin 8572 on NCL Star. Obstructed view cabin are good value if you're just looking for some daylight into your room.

Zeno if you can get the obstructed views that are all of the way forward (especially the one of the first two with the "tiny" life boat in front of them) you'd be all set. I'm sure Monte will chime in as he was in the most forward obstructed view on the port side and I think his view was great.

Hi Zeno

I think it was cabin 8562 we had. While classified as 'obstructed' there was nothing at all in front of the window, any obstructions were to the left & right. The view was great.

That's the good news. Now the bad news...

The deck plan makes it look like there is nothing against the forward wall of this cabin. In actuality, there's some sort of 'maintenance room' or something there. We had some of the loudest bangs come thru the wall that I've heard on any ship. Seriously, I though I must've been overly sensitive for some reason (the banging got to really grate on me)...then one day, I happened to be looking at the picture on the wall when one of those bangs occurred. The bottom of the picture jumped at least a couple inches from the wall. And these bangs could occur at any time of the day or night. Literally, it sounded like someone had a shotgun in that space.

IMO-save yourself the grief and move back a bit to a cabin that might be a little obstructed but doesn't have any blank spots next to it on the deck plans. I think 8566 would be a better choice and again not obstructed

Has anyone stayed in 8566? We have it booked for a cruise in April

Although I've not stayed in either 8566 or 8568, I did get to go inside 8568 on Norwegian Star (when I was trying to decide if I'd care for that same room on sister Norwegian Dawn). It was the exact same unobstructed (despite the category name) view that is shown above of the neighboring room.

So I booked it for myself (for Norwegian Dawn later this year) without any concerns. :)

No pic's But I can tell you my last cruise was in cabin 8102 .

I like your sideways cabin much better . :D

Be ready. The light outside my window stayed on all night for the lifeboat /promanade deck.

We had to close to drapes and turn the t/v to bow cam to see daylight coming .

And worker's walk by your window to service the lifeboats . So Close the drapes when changing . ;)
