Head's up about the Chef's Table

I booked my cruise last night and my very first order of business was finding a place on the Chef's Table! I have nearly always read on here that you booked the Chef's Table in advance by visiting JH's blog (which I did first) but then I began reading from people who waited up to 20 weeks and still had not had a confirmed booking. Some people suggested that it was faster to email the steakhouse, but I did not have this option because I am sailing on the Ecstasy and there is no steakhouse. So here's a tip for you Fantasy class ship-goers. I emailed the Maitre'D about my request and within only a few HOURS I got this reply:

"Booking Confirmed:

Dear Mrs. B____

Thank you for booking the Chef’s Table.

Your reservation request for 2 Guests is confirmed.

Should your plans change, please keep us advised at ecmaitred@carnival.com

We look forward to serving you!

Best Regards (...)"

Just thought I would share! I don't know if this is widely known or not but I haven't seen it yet. :D

I suspect that for ships without steakhouses, you need the ship code and "maitred" in the first half of the e-mail address.

Correct. If you are sailing Fantasy class, you'll have to email the Maitre'D, not the steakhouse. Use the email _ _ maitred@carnival.com. The two blanks will house your ships code, usually the first two letters of the ship's name. Ex. ECmaitred@carnival.com.. (EC for the Ecstasty).

The only exception I believe is for Fascination and Fantasy and I can't recall which is which at the moment.

I have heard similar things from people who have had success emailing the steakhouses. This post was intended for people who are sailing on Fantasy class ships because they do not have steakhouses, therefore no steakhouse email. But thank you for the Code list. It is the same for emailing the Maitre'D.

i never understood why anyone went through anyone to get their reservations. a lot easier to directly contact the correct people yourself, and it's a lot faster, and even accurate.
