Know anything about Cucumber Beach?

Has anyone been there? Is there an entrance fee? Is it a nice beach? Would you recommend it?

There is a $5 entrance fee. http://www.oldbelize.com/cucumber.html We stopped there for a few minutes on our way to horseback riding last week. I do not think you can snorkel there.

It is HORRIBLE. It like like an industrial lagoon. It is the worst beach I have ever been to, do not go !

Thanks for info! The fact that noone knows about it is a good warning! I think I've convinced my group to do cave tubing anyway.

Hi....I think there are some older threads about Cucumber beach, none are too complimentary. I guess they tried to make a nearby attraction there, but it is just not very good...

from everything I have read in the past year I have come to the same conclusion that a lot of other people have : Belize is a place where you have to plan some sort of "excursion", thru the ship or thru the various private companies (cavetubing.com, coral breeze, smuggler's run etc)...cause it is just not a good place to wander around.

There are some islands that you can get off the ship and just walk around (Grand Cayman for instance) but some others you need to do some planning, and Belize seems to be one of the "plan ahead" places, nothing near the pier that you can safely walk to, no nearby beaches, they don't even really have any nice all inclusive resorts with day passes.
