JessLCH Posted March 26, 2009 #1 Share Posted March 26, 2009 How far is it from port? What is the best way to get there and back? Are cabs available at the pier? Is this a family friendly beach? Considering spending a couple hours there with our kids (4 and 7). Would this be a good way to spend a couple hours after am am excursion? We won't be renting a car. I don't mind paying for a cab if it is convenient.

It is immediately next door to Nawiliwili, in front of the Marriott. The beach, like all beaches in Hawaii, is public. You can walk, or take one of the shopping shuttles at the pier (the shopping area is across the street behind the Marriott, which is the large building visible in this picture). You can rent beach toys here and take surfing lessons -- check out this link for that -- http://www.kauaifun.com/beachboys.html. There is also a Duke's restaurant on that beach. Here's a photo of the beach taken from our ship as we were backing away from the pier: Hope you have a good time!
