We used SPB tours in ST.Petes, Berlin, & Stockholm earlier this year, booked about 5 months out..they were absolutely fabulous !

Would use them again in a heartbeat, booking process was very easy via email, quick to respond & professional, guides were extremely knowledgeable and both owners made the effort to M&G with departing tours in both St.Petes and Berlin.

Mention you are active on a CC roll call and they will give you a good rate.

Our group sizes were 12 in a minibus in Russia and approx. 20 in other areas.

Enjoy your trip !

We got Russian visas so we could go on and off ship on our own. We used an agency, Rick Steves recommends,

http://www.passportvisasexpress.com/

But depending on where you live you could locate a travel agency which specializes in getting visas that is near you.

Yes the visas have a cost, and it is extremely difficult to navigate the Russian system for visa applications on your own without a visa agency. But having the visas was wonderful. We did use Peters Walking Tours while there. They met us at the Hermitage where we received a half day private museum tour. The next day we met a guide by the Church on the Spilled Blood and did a wonderful half day walking tour. Our visas and tour costs were far less than the ship's tours. We got taxis from the port, to meet our guides as well as to go to some other sites we were interested in.

We will be returning on another Baltic cruise this next September and intend to once again get visas. We personally really dislike most group tours so this works for us.
