Beach for young family

will be travelling with a 1 and 3 year old. Looking for calm beach, decent shade and relatively close to the pier.

Restaurant not necessary but washrooms would be a plus. It will be a short 2-3 hr trip from the boat

Would prefer to travel by bus as well

The closest beach to the pier is Fort James Beach, but it is not easily reachable by bus. It is a 10-min taxi ride away. The closest beaches to reach by bus are Dickensen Bay to the north - about a 25 min bus ride, or Valley Church Beach (25 min) or Darkwood Beach (30 min) to the south. All of the beaches have shade, in the form of umbrellas, and places to eat.
