We are Royal Caribbean folks, and live in Galveston..... so do not use Cruise line transfers to airports.

But with three full time Carnival ships in Galveston ,

its hard to believe Carnival does not provide same day transfer service to Hobby Airport ! ????

and bringing in the new big one , they will have a shuttles.

Carnival does run a shuttle to HOU but not to IAH.  It is not free. I think it's about $36.99 each way.

Carnival has shuttles from Terminal A at IAH.

Is this new?  We didn't have this option when I flew in last January.  Had to use Galveston Limo.    I have another cruise with my sisters next April and this would be great since it is far cheaper for me to fly into IAH.  Thanks!

Edit:  Just checked the Carnival site and you are right!  It costs $46.99 but still, it's another option.

I have been volunteering at the USO center at IAH for the last 3 1/2 years and Carnival has had their shuttle service for at least that long on cruise days.

We flew into IAH from Chicago on UAL. It's a hub & they have a lot of non-stop flights. We stayed near the airport at a hotel with a free shuttle & used Galveston Express the next day. It was an easy, less than 1 hour drive.

Exactly.  We did this too.  The hotels around IAH are very affordable and most have shuttles.  We used Galveston Limo instead but I am sure they are comparable.  Very reliable.  Always good to have choices.
