Fully and partially obstructed oceanview cabins (again)

Hello again!

I am still looking into the fully and partially obstructed oceanview cabins onboard Oomsterdam.

I have narrowed it down to cabins 4100, 4099, 4071 and 4072.

I did a search on the forums and a couple cruise cabins websites, and it appears 4099 and 4071 have better views, compared to 4100 and 4072.

Both cabins 4099 and 4071 appear to have a lot of natural light, and some sort of view in between the life boats. I however cannot tell which has a better view, from looking at photos - cabin 4099 or 4071. 4099 is fully obstructed and 4071 partially obstructed.

Has anyone stayed in any of these cabins and can share their experiences?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you :)

I haven’t stayed in any of these cabins on the Ooesterdam but stayed in 4116 in October last year and that cabin was completely blocked by a life boat. The light was pretty good that came through. If you want a little bit of a view, you would need to pick one of the other cabins you were looking at.

As far as getting light, you get some and can tell the difference from night and day. You do get a view when they take the life boat down for tendering or crew drills.

Thanks for the feedback!

I think we are inclined to go for the partially obstructed oceanview cabin category - that way we get more natural light and more of a view.

The floor to ceiling window will be great to have!

Thanks again :)

We were in 4074 and although there was a lifeboat in front of the window, we could see if it was sunny or cloudy, and there was plenty of light coming in from the floor to ceiling windows. I think you'll enjoy having a partially obstructed cabin.

Smooth Sailing! [emoji3] [emoji3] [emoji3]
