Galveston visitor parking.

There is metered parking in the Strand area "shopping area" a couple of blocks away from the terminal. There are also parking lots that will allow you to park all day for a fee (can't remember the daily rate, sorry). The closest one I can think of is for the restaurants around pier 21.

It's not too bad. It's probably a 1-2 block walk to the eastern-most edge of terminal 1. However, you check in at the western-most edge of the terminal, so you will be walking about 3 more blocks distance at the terminal building. If most in your parties are able-bodied, you'll be fine.

Do a google search for:

Cruise terminal 1, Harborside Drive, Galveston, TX, and it should show you better than I can explain it...

Mariner may go out of terminal 2, if that's the case, you're looking at 2-3 more blocks walking. Terminal 2 is farther from parking meters on the strand, and there's not as much around it in the way of private, short term parking.

Good luck, and congratulations!

There is no parking charge at the meters to park downtown on Sunday.

The lots at Pier 21 have 3 hours free with vaildation from one of the restaurants. Then is it $4/hour thereafter with a max. of $16.

There is a parking lot at the corner of 25th and Strand. Don't know what they charge but it has to be comparable to other lots in the vicinity and it is nearest to both cruise terminals.

Wedding guests should be able to be dropped off at front of terminal

with no issue and the driver then drive out to Harborside

and be able to park at his choice and walk back!

On the north side of Harborside (port side)

there are walk ways at 25th St into terminal areas

and vehicular and walk way entrances at 22nd 21th and 20th

and pay parking lots in the 24th or 23rd to 20th blocks

north of Harborside (port side).

There are also parking lots on south side of Harborside

and on Strand and 25th.

After wedding and off ship

go to restuarants like Olympia Grill, Fishermans Warfh, Willie G's,

have drink , have parking tickets validated,

and watch ship depart and wave good bye to friends! :D

The restaurants mentioned are on port with the best views of the ship and departure.

They are at 21st and 22nd piers.

We like olmpia the best!

Then if you like

drive to Seawall Blvd and to east end of blvd and east beach

and watch ship in Galveston channel turn into ship channel

where you have great close view of ship in

channel thru jetties and out to sea!

See maPs and google it.
