Help..How do I mix the BBC drink????

Recommended Posts

The best BBC recipe for 1 is as follows:

1/2 banana

2oz. Baileys (or a comp Irish Liquor such as Emmets)

3/4 oz. Coco Lopez, creme of coconut (blue label not red)

ice and a good blender

Good luck and happy drinking!!!:) :)

Some fellow M&M's on my first cruise practically MADE me have one (they paid!). With much arm twisting, I relented. ;) It was quite tasty and I repaid the favor by buying her a Yellowbird. I have a laundry list of the "signature" drinks people have enjoyed on a cruise and talk about on these boards. The BBC is number one.

This drink sounds absolutely yummy... if I ask the bartender on Rhapsody for a BBC, they'll know what it is?

D :)

In a heartbeat! One of the many things I have enjoyed on my cruises has been having well versed bartenders that not only know the staples, but you can give them a few ingredients and they'll introduce you to something you've never heard of.

Try it next time you're on a cruise and feel undecided with what you want. Throw out a few flavors and they may serve you your new favorite drink!

Cheers! And bottoms up!

The Best BBC is at the Champagne Bar on the Rhapsody IMO. But the previous recipe with cream of coconut is not the same one that they use on the Rhapsody. We got the recipe from the Cocktail Seminar and the bartenders. It has Pina Colada not cream of coconut along with Baileys and banana. It is yummy!

What's in a Yellowbird?

I had to look it up:

1 oz rum

1/2 oz Galliano liqueur*

1/2 oz vodka

4 oz sweet and sour mix**

* - some use banana liqueur

** - variants use 2 of the following in equal parts: orange juice, lime juice, pineapple juice, etc.

From what I've tasted onboard, it definately had a banana taste so I'd lean toward the banana liqueur being the Royal Caribbean preferred ingredient. Tastes like a banana popsicle with a little bit of a tang to it from the juice/sweet&sour.

Regardless... it was tasty.
