Question about jeans for a Canada trip

I will be on the Maasdam Oct 10th from Montreal to Ft Lauderdale. It will be brisk (or colder) at least on the first portion of the trip. Would blue jeans be out of place? I didn't see many of them on our recent Med cruise on the Princendam, but that was a different itinerary.

 

Any help would be appreciated. If I take then, I promise not to wear them on a formal night :mad: (or even in the main dining room at any time). :eek:

I'm on a similar routing, and will be taking my smart denim jeans to wear if we eat in the Lido one evening.

I have a similar question about jeans during the evening. We know jeans are not allowed in the dining room after 5pm. My partner is wondering if he can wear jeans in the casino or lounges during the evening before or after dinner. We will be dining during the main seating and he was a little upset when I said no jeans after 5pm.

I'm sure someone will confirm, but I believe they are allowed in the dining room on non-formal nights, worn with a collared shirt.

We were just on the Volendam (Aug 19-26) and there were a lot of people that wore jeans to the dining room, even a few on formal nights.

We wear jeans on all our cruises, just not to the dining room in the evening.

Last year on our New England/Canadian Cruise DH took his "Dress Levis" and wore them most evenings with a nice shirt. Seemed most folks dressed similarly, except for formal nights when most men wore suits.

We also wear jeans on all our cruises. We're doing the Quebec to Fort Lauderdale repo on the Eurodam and plan to wear jeans. We will switch to something lighter for Fort Lauderdale. Most HAL cruises we fit right in - most other passengers are wearing jeans or other very casual clothes. This is our third Atlantic coast repo. On the first, we were the only women wearing jeans. It was an especially older group and the average daytime wear was smart casual. On the second one, we fit right in with our jeans.

Hi Winetaster! I'm on the same trip and have "seen" you on the roll call. HAL has changed their dress code recently, so Jeans are "OK" after 5, except on formal nights. I plan on wearing nice (dressy?) jeans to dinner from time to time. During the day, jeans are fine, especially given the temps we may be experiencing.

Jeans are perfectly fine and not "out of place", especially on a Fall Canada/NE cruise. HAL took the "jeans restriction" out of their literature a couple years book. I would not wear them on a formal night in the main dining room but I have worn them on non-formal nights there and am happy to say that I survived the "eyes throwing daggers" ordeal.

We were on this same cruise in June and lots of jeans. I dont recall seeing any on formal nights but at all other times. This is a great itinerary and a very relaxing trip. One of our best cruises ever. Second time on the Maasdam and really enjoyed it.
