terryde Posted September 4, 2009 #1 Share Posted September 4, 2009 Just wondered if a car rental requires extra fees, license, or insurance because you are renting it in PR?
RayInPR Posted September 4, 2009 #2 Share Posted September 4, 2009 Your state-side driver license is all you need here. You don't need to buy a "local" driver license. The insurance the rental agencies push are the same ones they push in the States. Check with your insurance company ... your state-side policy probably covers rentals in PR, same as in the states. terryde Posted September 4, 2009 Author #3 Share Posted September 4, 2009 Thanks, Ray! Do you know about the drive from the airport to Sheraton OSJ? Best map online to use for that? Will also be driving pre-cruise to El Yunque and hear that drive is ok too.
rainforestgirl Posted September 4, 2009 #4 Share Posted September 4, 2009 I would bring a copy of your insurance coverage policy (company name and policy info etc), just in case. Some places ask for it. Try this map: http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&om=1&msa=0&msid=116969536791656461166.00000111c2647d9ad5cbd&ll=18.30399,-65.921083&spn=0.912651,1.167297&z=10&source=embed To get to El Yunque- RT 26 este (east) - it will run into RT 66/rt 3. Stay to the left and get onto RT 66. $1.50 toll road, but it avoids traffic and lights). RT 66 ends at RT 3 intersection. Turn right onto RT 3. Take that about 10 miles. You will see a large sign for Rio Mar to the left and the Rain forest to the right. At that light, turn right and follow the road until you get to a corner with RT 191 (green building). Turn left and go up to EL Yunque.
