Another Early Saver Question

My travel agent does not seem to understand the early saver rules. He is telling me I am in penalty time because final payment was due already. I tried to explain that with ES you can get price adjustments up until 2 business days before sailing, which by the way is clearly in the rules. It just seems like he does not want to put in the effort to file the form. And now on top of the cabins I booked being $100 less, the one my mother is in has a senior rate that is less by $260. Can I submit the price protection form myself on the Carnival website?

You "can" submit it yourself and Carnival "can" reject it now, or later revoke any OBC they give you when they see you made the booking through a travel agent.

If you reserved through a travel agent, the travel agent must submit the form. The rules are very clear. They don't care if you have an unknowledgable agent, one who doesn't want to do it, or one who wants to charge a fee for doing it.

There are threads with examples of this.

You must work through the agent. Get on his tail and tell him to do it. If he can read, he knows what the rules are. Tell him to go to the website and READ the early saver rules......and do it.....today. He's got your money, he's the only one who can access your reservation with Carnival.... You must be insistent on this.

He probably is resisting because with the lower price, his commission is lower too and he doesn't want to lose it. Too bad about him.

Then, don't use his services again....

Bottom line is if the TA submits the form for a price reduction for you and gets it, the TA looses money. Their commision is cut. There is no incentive for them to work for your benifit. Dump him/her and book with a PVP next time. Good luck getting what you are entitled too.
