SISer Posted September 9, 2009 #1 Share Posted September 9, 2009 I know that the Panama Canal is built thorought a rainforest. i am looking at a cruise that visits ports in Panama, Central America and Mexico in early November, is this a good time of year to travel to the region? When is hurricane season officially over? Thank in advance.

BillB48 Posted September 10, 2009 #3 Share Posted September 10, 2009 In the Atlantic basin hurricane season is over Nov. 30. I am not sure of when it is over in the eastern Pacific, but it is around the same or maybe exactly the same time. As far as the Panama area, technically it is still the rainy season, but it is a transitional period with the weather trending towards dry. All in all as far as Panama is concerned it should not be a problem, just the possibility of a brief shower.
