Hi,

2 adults driving want to arrive in LA area to see Universal, Peterson Car Museum, Huntington Beach, etc. on Dec. 10 stay in LA area for 4 nights before CCL cruise departing from Long Beach.

Rates of hotels near Universal w/ parking fees etc. are so high.

We have the car so a 30 min driving radius around touristy LA stuff is ok.

Hotel suggestions?

Or should I just find a place in Long Beach and drive every day to LA?

One w/ micro, coffee machine would be perfect.

First time in LA so I need help.

thanks

DH and I are spending 3 days in LA prior to our cruise on Carnival Splendor out of Long Beach on the Sept. 20th. We reserved a room at the Radisson Westside through Hotels.com. Very good price of under $90. http://www.radisson.com/culvercityca I was told there is a frig in room and access to microwave and Internet in lobby. $14 per day parking fee. It is close to LAX and freeways. We will have a rental car. We have never been to L.A., so driving around should be an adventure. We did decide it would be wise to take a 6-hour bus city tour of the highlights to avoid total insanity. Will be driving up Pacific Coast to Ventura on Saturday to visit a friend. Hope this helps. Best wishes to you!

I'm going to ask for more info, before giving suggestions to rpinphx1...

But for you, you might be interested in this thread/link here:

Lots of pics and info on The Radisson Westside, and things in the direct area!

If you are going to take a tour though, I can't recommend

Red Line Tours

highly enough! They are unquestionably the best tour company in Los Angeles.

Since you have a car, I'd highly recommend getting to their office in Hollywood on a Monday through Friday for the

Hollywood Movie Star Experience Tour

http://www.redlinetours.com/redline/hmse.php

You can only get into Sony Studios for part of the tour on the weekdays.

It is so worth it, it's the best deal and best tour around!

Let me know if you have any questions.
