scottndsky Posted September 12, 2009 #1 Share Posted September 12, 2009 Hi Folks, My family just returned from a Mexican Riviera cruise on the Carnival Splendor. We had a great time, however, one observation we made concerned the water temperature in the pools. We noticed that the temperature in all three pools seemed to follow the ocean temps. The farther south we went the more tolerable the pools were. The closer we were to home port (Long Beach, CA) the colder the pools were. We're booked on the Oosterdam for an Alaskan Explorer cruise that sails next July. I’m wondering what to expect of the two pools on the Oosterdam while we cruise northern waters. I expect the exposed aft pool is not going to be very popular, but what about the Lido pool? Do they heat the pool? We'll have a 6 yr. old and 4 yr old who would really be bummed if they couldn’t swim on the ship. I came across this picture and thought, "brrrr!": Regards, Scott
dandro Posted September 12, 2009 #2 Share Posted September 12, 2009 The Lido pool is heated and covered during the Alaska cruises.
Assateague Island Princes Posted September 12, 2009 #3 Share Posted September 12, 2009 Yup, pools are nice and warm. Let them swim on top deck while you relax in the accompanying hot tub, adult beverage in hand, watching the glaciers and magnificent scenery slide by! Sounds like a plan!:p
