Gem ports question

DH and I will be crusing on the Gem in Oct with our son, 10 months. Do you think we can still have a good time without booking any excursions/private tours or a scheduled itinerary? We figure we can come back to Europe in a few years and do the sight seeing intensive stuff, but for now, just strolling around the main attractions or the downtown would be fine.

Anyone still have a great time in these ports just playing it by ear?

Are you doing the Greek Isles or Aegean Sea cruise?

 

The ports of call section of cruise critic gives good information of what to see in walking distance of port.

We did Barcelona and Naples on our own...no problems guiding ourselves around.....Took the Train from port to Rome to see Vatican and the Colessium...no problem there either....Have fun!! We loved Europe
