Kayelache Posted September 17, 2009 #1 Share Posted September 17, 2009 Has anyone heard that HAL is enforcing a "No Door Decorations" policy? It there such a policy? Has anyone had it enforced? I was planning to bring a small, tasteful decoration to put on the door with masking tape. I've done this before, it really helps me know I'm at the right cabin (they all look alike). I've had several people thank me as they know they are headed the right way when they see my decoration. I've searched this thread and can't find any reference to an official policy against door decorations.
sylteach Posted September 17, 2009 #2 Share Posted September 17, 2009 I just got back from being on the Ryndam, and I saw several decorations on doors and no one bothered them.
Jemima Posted September 17, 2009 #3 Share Posted September 17, 2009 There has been no mention here of door decorations not being allowed. It is possible that a safety inspection could object to the decorations. We were not allowed to have anything on or near our classroom doors. Fire inspectors wrote up anything of that type and required that it be removed. Possibly ship safety or fire inspectors might have similar rules. SDHALFAN Posted September 17, 2009 #4 Share Posted September 17, 2009 Our TA always provides door decorations for "escorted cruises". I am sure that if there was a problem we would not find those cheery decorations on our doors. Last year, since we were on an Asian/Australian cruise we had Dragons decorating our doors. I am looking forward to seeing what they come up with this year. I sincerely doubt that there is a "No Door Decorations" policy so go ahead and decorate your door. If HAL decides to implement such a policy they will let you know ASAP. Valerie:D
