cruisedad2 Posted September 18, 2009 #1 Share Posted September 18, 2009 Hi. We are taking the Coral Princess to Alaska in June 2010. We are in D706 (Dolphin Deck). It is near the rear of the ship, but has a covered balcony. Is there a lot a ship vibration or is it better since the balcony is covered? Thanks for responding! Ethel5 Posted September 18, 2009 #2 Share Posted September 18, 2009 We were in D710 and didn't notice any vibration. Depends on the seas. Enjoy!
texkan Posted September 18, 2009 #3 Share Posted September 18, 2009 We had D722 on Coral this past Aug in Alaska. Very nice mini suite but there was vibration that we felt in our cabin. DH said that he thought vibration was from ship props and it was noticed in cabin during the night.
cruisedad2 Posted September 18, 2009 Author #4 Share Posted September 18, 2009 Hi. Thanks for the response. Would you choose this cabin again with a covered balcony (that's the reason we chose this room)...or would a mid-ship room with an exposed balcony be better? texkan Posted September 18, 2009 #5 Share Posted September 18, 2009 Hi. Thanks for the response. Would you choose this cabin again with a covered balcony (that's the reason we chose this room)...or would a mid-ship room with an exposed balcony be better? Yes,I would stay in the area with the covered balcony. We were very close to large public balcony at back of ship. My DH used that area alot for taking pictures. He only saw one other person in that area while he was there. Our cabin was also very close to laundry room. We slept okay but did fell ship vibration during the night. Have you used this site to view Coral: http://mysite.verizon.net/res76zxu/princessbalconies/id4.html
mii Posted September 18, 2009 #6 Share Posted September 18, 2009 We have been in D706 and I would take that cabin again in a heartbeat. In fact any of those back there. Really there was no vibration in excess at all. Oh once in awhile when the ship was leaving or coming in to dock just a little rumbling but nothing to be bothered about. Take those cabins back there. They are very much prized. Marilyn

cruisedad2 Posted September 18, 2009 Author #8 Share Posted September 18, 2009 Thank you, everyone, for your quick and specific guidance. It means a lot. This will be the most expensive vacation we've ever taken, and I didn't want to make a mistake. Happy Cruising!
Amtrack Springfield Posted September 19, 2009 #9 Share Posted September 19, 2009 We had D -708 last November for the Panama Canal and was great cabin. It had lots of room and the bath tub/shower was great. We had little vibration.
