beppy Posted September 18, 2009 #1 Share Posted September 18, 2009 Any recommendations for snorkeling in St. Thomas? would be willing to take ferry to Cruz Bay. Christmas Cove? Shipwreck Cove? Captain Nautica? worth going sailing to St. John? We've been to Trunk Bay already - OK. Both experienced snorkelers. I desperately need a reason to keep spouse out of the diamond shops! topspot Posted September 19, 2009 #3 Share Posted September 19, 2009 How about a day sail, half or whole day???? We are using Island Girl. No more than 6 patrons on the boat, and they have "power snorkle" that propels you around in the water so you can cover more ground. This would keep you away from the shops:rolleyes:

Middleager Posted September 22, 2009 #6 Share Posted September 22, 2009 Coki Beach. It is free, and it's decent snorkeling. If you are adventurous, can try snuba, or intro scuba, or of course full fledged scuba diving, including boat diving. We had a few people, so had arranged with Pete the owner of Coki Beach dive club, for his driver (at extra cost) to pick us up. After our 1/2 day diving/snorkeling, had the driver drive around for an island tour. We asked to be dropped off at Paradise Point (where the sky tram go), and pick us up 1 hr later, down to the cruise terminal.
CRUISERTN Posted September 23, 2009 #7 Share Posted September 23, 2009 My vote is for Coki Beach. It is decent snorkeling and next to Coral World, which is far away from the jewelry stores!!:p
loopdloops Posted September 23, 2009 #8 Share Posted September 23, 2009 we went on castaway girl to blackbeards cove and loved it. We saw hundreds of fish, the boat was very accessible and the crew members were fun. Try youtube to see if anyone has posted any video.
Lsimon Posted September 29, 2009 #9 Share Posted September 29, 2009 Do a Day Sail - there are probably about a dozen operators that run small sailboats out of Red Hook. Standard procedure is to sail over to a cove off of St. John for snorkeling. Then lunch, then time for snorkeling, swimming or just sailing before heading back in the afternoon. All take a maximum of 6, and will tailor the trip to your desires if the group as a whole decides. We've done this twice and snorkeling and whole experience was great! Our favorite out of the two was Rumbaba, but most all of the them have great reputations. Google name of ship and /or St. Thomas Day sail, or search in St. Thomas forum for reviews. Pirate's Penny or Stormy Petrol out of Red Hook- power boats that take only 10 people- fabulous snorkeling stops- great day!
