pepsicruiser Posted September 18, 2009 #1 Share Posted September 18, 2009 Does anyone know the cost to upgrade (if they are available at Pier) from one category to another? I tried a search but couldn't locate it. Thanks
Rare Radio Posted September 18, 2009 #2 Share Posted September 18, 2009 Here is the list I received from the Pier Coordinator several years ago on Explorer of the Seas. . . The Prices below are Per Cabin. . .not per Person, and is for a 7 night cruise. This is the price from the Pier Coordinator only(after you complete the check in process, and before you board the ship) This is Not the price once you board the ship (From Guest Relations (PursersDesk)) This price remains current as of (Aug 2009 Freedom of the Seas) You can ask the agent after you check in, and they will point you over to the PC Deck. . . It doesn't hurt to ask. . . It is much eaiser to U/G from Inside to outside or Balcony. Suites have been tough to get recently :o Radio :rolleyes: RCI Upgrades From INSIDE to Royal Suite - $1500 Suite - $1000 Balcony - $600 Outside - $300 Inside - $100 From OUTSIDE to Royal Suite - $1200 Suite - $700 Balcony - $300 Outside - $100 From BALCONY to Royal Suite - $1000 Suite - $400 Balcony - $100 From SUITE to Royal Suite - $800 Suite - $400 . buckanear Posted September 19, 2009 #4 Share Posted September 19, 2009 Cost varies by ship/itinerary as well.
masonpips Posted September 19, 2009 #5 Share Posted September 19, 2009 Don't hold your breath either - they tend to upgrade folks already booked (thank you Upgrade Fairy for 2006's Navigator...) and then sell the remaining cabins at a lower rate! Alexis Posted September 19, 2009 #6 Share Posted September 19, 2009 Cost varies by ship/itinerary as well. I miss seeing you around here always answering this question for many. I am going to post this thread of all of us talking about it. ;) http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?p=18640497#post18640497
The Big Booper Posted September 19, 2009 #7 Share Posted September 19, 2009 Several years ago, we were upgraded by the pier coordinator in San Juan. An extended family had to cancel their 11 cabins on deck 9 (balconies and JSs) after a grandparent had a heart attack three days prior to the cruise. We heard some people talking while on line for DW to book her nail appt for formal night. I ran off the ship and got over to the PC desk while there were balconies still available, all the JS were already gone. The PC does upgrades until the ship sails, then guest relations does upgrades. From my understanding, they are different revenue departments.
