Red Baron Charter..... ?

Hi.

Does anyone have any knowledge of the Red Baron Private Charter?

They offer a 3.5 hr....and a 6 hr. sailing.

I wonder if there is any negative side to sailing the full day (6 hr).

Thanks for any feedback you can offer.... ;)

The only possible negative I can think of for a full day is if the water is rough and someone gets seasick in the morning. Do you end the trip early or do you just put the sick person ashore? Red Baron might possibly end the trip early if the weather was too rough. You'll have to take into account everyone's comfort level with the actual sailing part.

Jdaws ~

I contacted them through their link on :

http://www.grandcaymancruiseexcursions.com

Once there' date=' I did their reservation form, and (although not doing the reservation yet)...communicated through their "comments" section of the form.

I received a response back within a couple of hours.[/quote']

Thank you!

I finally did get a response from them this morning.

When is your cruise?

The $5 pp fare each way is approximately correct, but is certainly not 1/2 price.

I sent an email to the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism and the response was

"In response to your query the approximate cost for a group of people

travelling from the cruise ship dock to the C.I. Yacht Club would be US$4

per person."

The person that answered my email is supposed to forward a list of rates.

Did you get to do the Red Baron Charter? Did you pay for the transportation through Grand Cayman Cruise Excursions or did you catch a cab? How much did the transportation to the Yacht Club cost you? Any information will be appreciated. We are booked for November 17, 2005. Thanks!

Yes, we did do the sailing with Red Baron Charters. It was great!!!

We just picked up a taxi @ the pier. I'm not remembering exactly what we paid....

Our Captain was Neil. He was awesome!!!! Really a great guy.

The RED BARON...we did not sail on, though. We sailed, instead on a slightly larger sail boat that was docked right next to it....solid white in color. Really beautiful.

I did a full review of the cruise...and I wrote a bit about this excursion. I believe the thread is titled: Rhapsody of the Seas: Spring Break 2005. Check it out. Maybe I spoke of the taxi fare.

Be sure to take along a waterproof, disposable camera...for when you are swimming with the stingrays. Any other camera will get ruined.

OK... I found the link to my review.

Here it is: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=153109

The taxi fare was $5.00 each way...per person.
