Suggestion for Carnival:

WinnipegCruiser

Now that Fantasy is scheduled to port out of Charleston, I'd really like to see some Bermuda cruises as well as some Eastern/Southern Caribbean cruises....like to St. Thomas, St. Martin, etc......strickly Bahamas will get old real quick. Maybe keep the Glory as a Charleston option for longer cruises to different areas of the Caribbean.

I agree. I live a few hours from Charleston but to go to the Bahamas I will just go to Jax. I live an hour from Jax. I would go to Charleston to go to Bermuda.

Simply put, look at policies, procedures and technology to speed up the lines.

Maximizing customers' time in ports of call by speeding up the disembarkation/embarkation process.

  • Additional card-swiping stations at the embarkation deck to cut down on the wait to get off the ship when docked at a port of call (and at ports where you take people's pictures as they disembark like Key West, a second photographer).

  • More X-ray/security stations to process two streams of re-embarking customers at once, cutting down on the wait to get back on board.

Think of it like opening a second check-out lane at the supermarket...

Maybe also look at some of the lines on the Buffet during busy peak-season sailings.

Of course, this was all based on my one CCL cruise (so far), on an older Fantasy-class ship.

we would like to see a 14/15 day cruise in the summer time from los angeles to hawaii and back....also alternate their mexican cruise with a canada cruise los angeles to victoria/vancourer/san francisco :rolleyes:and back

I agree with the Hawaii thing. I would love to use Carnival for my Hawaiian cruise in 2011 but they don't offer them in the summer. That is going to be an expensive cruise that I won't get credit for on my Platinum quest. I will have to use NCL.

I totally agree with the reduced deposit. With a family of 4 we end up paying almost half the cost up front. We would book more if we didn't have to spend so much up front. Thanks :)

Me too. There are 4 of us and I want to book next summers cruise now but I have to wait until I save all the $600 (it is a 5 day so the deposit is $150) to do so. In the meantime I'm sure the rates will increase.

Straighten out the pricing programs for booking cruises. Currently, you can book a future cruise while on a cruise but only on certain ships. You can get an early saver credit which can vary by length of cruise and a $100 credit that can be applied to your deposit ............ (I got to take a breath) .................. which may or may not be cheaper than the Military discount, past guest, Florida resident, Senior and others. Oh and don't forget, you also have the monthly "Special" web discounts that may or may not be better than every thing listed above. If you book through some T.A.'s, they some times offer a ship credit because they buy cabins in volume. Then you got the last minute folks trying to get a cheaper rate for booking cancelled cruises. I am quite sure I missed some thing.

I hope you were taking notes!

Here is something simple that I doubt would cost too much. Many people, like myself, collect casino chips from the various casinos we have played in. On RCCL, they will give you a small plastic ring faub thingy that the chip fits into. Its really cool. I asked for one on the Victory and the guy in the cashiers booth had never heard of them.

Maybe Carnival could offer these to the casino chip collectors.

One more I thought of..

I would thank Carnival for having smaller minimum bets in the Casino. On RCCL Sovereign and Monarch, the minimum bets at roulette were $5. We are not big gamblers and it sure makes my casino allowance go alot further with $1 minimums as opposed to $5.

I've seen it done before with other Resort and Vacation Locations, but they should tie the Sail & Sign card to a digital photo system so that they don't have to waste so many photos by printing them all out.

If they link your photo to your S&S card when they take the actual photograph and "associate" that photo with my account.

As a cruiser, I can simply put my S&S card into a kiosk and select from the multitude of photos which I had taken while on the ship and then print it out.

Carnival could also offer a "CD Memories" package for us to take away all our photos in digital format or something similar, but this would reduce the cost/waste of all those photos they print as well as make it *much* easier to find the photos in the first place.

Just a thought! *grin*

I thought of the same thing. Disney does this at all their parks in Florida. As you wander around Magic Kingdom etc, their are several photographers willing to take your picture. After doing so, he gives you a card with an ID number on it. You can then go home or to your hotel room, log onto the disney website, type in the code and review the pics. You then order from there.

I think the anytime dining they are introducing was a long time coming. It seems like they should have introduced it a lot sooner than they did. It's not going to be available to me on my upcoming cruise, but hopefully the next time I sail Carnival I'll get to eat when I want to in the DR's.

I'm pretty satisfied with Carnival as a whole, but like others have said, they do need to stop cutting corners.

To all these people who have suggested that Carnival stop cutting corners...can you give some examples of what you are talking about? In this economy, everyone is cutting corners and sometimes a company has to make some tough decisions in order to continue to provide quality products. I am interested in what corners you think they should not have cut and what corners you are ok with.
