josask Posted September 27, 2009 #1 Share Posted September 27, 2009 We'd love some opinions/advice for best things to do with 6, 9 & 13 yo kids. We'll be on board the Jewel in January. Thanks in advance!
kestrel Posted October 1, 2009 #2 Share Posted October 1, 2009 Several years ago, we took a one-week land trip to Costa Rica with our kids. The activities we enjoyed the most were Canopy Tour (i.e., ziplines) and Tortuguero Canals. I think your two older kids will enjoy the ziplines. However, the 6-yr old is too young. I will suggest that you check Tortuguero Canals boat ride. We saw lots of wild animals and birds there.
cruzeluver Posted October 1, 2009 #3 Share Posted October 1, 2009 I concur with the zip line idea. We did this in Costa Rica in April and it was one of those once-in-a-lifetime events. We booked with The Original Canopy Tour. They took great care of us and everyone had a blast! There is another company that does zip line trips, and I've heard good reports on them as well. josask Posted October 6, 2009 Author #4 Share Posted October 6, 2009 Thanks for the suggestion. The 6 yo is too young for zipline and the 9 yo is too chicken:). We'll have to look into the canals boat ride or maybe just finding a beach.
mamadot Posted October 9, 2009 #5 Share Posted October 9, 2009 We have done canopy tours in Costa Rica where we walked on swinging bridges. That is something that any age can do and it was great! We saw so much of the habitat and wildlife........even the ant colonies which were amazing!!
