I've read that you can carry on one bottle of wine per person. Can you keep this in your room and drink it in the cabin? If they take it to be consumed at dinner is there a corkage charge?

 

Sailing on the Freedom November 7th (my birthday - yoo hoo). Can't wait.

If you take it to the Main Dining Room there is a corkage charge of about $10-$12. Just keep it in your cabin and enjoy before dinner.

Yes and Yes. Sometimes they forget to charge you the corkage fee, though.:)

You are correct, the policy is 1 bottle per person. Yes, you can carry it to your room. Being charged a corkage fee seems to be really hit or miss. I have never been charged a fee for taking a bottle of wine to the MDR. I think a lot of it has to do with attitude and the relationship one has with the serving staff.

poor your glass in the room and take it with you to the dining room, heck even bring the bottle, what are they going to do

Pour a glass of wine and take it to dinner with you. We were once put in the awkward position when we brought our bottle of wine to dinner, and the waiter asked if we wanted to share with the others. Plus, the $10.00 corkage fee is a rip off. JMHO.

That is only if flying - you can carry a corkscrew on to the ship.

Yes, best thing to do is to pour a glass for two, and bring to dinner. No questions, no sharing...just enjoy!
