St. Vincent Tours

We have visited St. Vincent three times on Ocean Village and we love the place because it's like the Caribbean that time forgot!

The first time we visited we took the organised tours, expensive, but a great first taste.

The snorkeling is great, but there are so many folks on the boat tour the last time we did it, that last year we decided to do our own thing and we took a taxi to Villa beach and met up with a local guy called Natty and he took us all over the place in his little boat.

When it was time to go back we were running a bit late so we got a lift back to the dock with a dive shop that was doing scuba intros on the beach. They were really nice, they didn't have to help us, but they gave us a lift anyway, and their boat had a glass bottom which was really cool!

We're back on OV again this year, and we have booked a snorkel trip with the glass bottomed boat folks, theres 6 in our group and we have been told that we can have the boat to ourselves. We found them again by doing a search on google for diving, st. vincent, glass bottomed boat. There were some nice reviews about them too so this helped us to make up our minds.

We are planning to go to Indian Bay, and then to Bat Cave, this is where Pirates of the Caribbean was filmed and Jonny Depp used this as the door to the treasure cave, and you can snorkel inside, the kids are very excited about this!

We thought this was the worst island ever. First of all the city looked like it was bombed out. Totally derelict. We took a taxi tour to the site where they filmed Pirates of the Caribbean. All the way back to the ship (on the worst roads ever) the taxi driver (in the most beat up car ever) kept complaining that we were paying him too little. When we got to the port, he told the manager of the taxis that we had to pay more. It was very irritating.
