Powriv Posted October 1, 2009 #105 Share Posted October 1, 2009 I wish I knew how to upload a photo....a friend of mine that is cruising on the ship posted the news on his facebook page about 3 hours ago. He said there was lots of broken glass. His pictures on facebook show some of the damage on the Carnival ship (he is on RCCL) .... my favorite photo is pic of several workers on the Carnival ship "discussing" the situation. What should the workers be doing? Smoking or perhaps puking over the side?? Wonder what the RCL workers were doing the same time this photo was taken
planocruiser3 Posted October 1, 2009 #106 Share Posted October 1, 2009 Can anyone that knows the rules better than I do tell me if I will get in trouble for posting these photos? If it is against the board rules I can take them down.
DEIx15x8 Posted October 1, 2009 #107 Share Posted October 1, 2009 That shot the Carnival Legend took to the pier is more concerning than the shot to the Enchantment. The Enchantment appears to be high up on the ship but that dock hit is right at the water line.
ehfl Posted October 1, 2009 #108 Share Posted October 1, 2009 The photos are great...if you get any more, keep them coming. As long as the photographer doesn't mind, then it's fine.
FargoCruiser Posted October 1, 2009 #109 Share Posted October 1, 2009 WoW! That ship was definitely not where it was supposed to be.

melissa@cruisecritic Posted October 1, 2009 #113 Share Posted October 1, 2009 We've gotten word from both lines that the ships have been cleared and are both on their way to their next port of call: Belize. At this point, no itinerary changes are expected. Royal Caribbean wasn't able to say when repairs will be made to Enchantment, but Carnival expects to fix up Legend while it is in sailing, so cruises won't be impacted. UTCJCB Posted October 1, 2009 #118 Share Posted October 1, 2009 Yikes... Yeah, I can only imagine how many will be so traumatized that only a free cruise or two will cure them! With free drinks, spa treatments (for the shock they are experiencing), tips paid by the purser, and 3 pints of alcohol from the duty free store delivered to their stateroom that night. (and normally I wouldn't poke fun, but given everyone is ok, I just had to....)
tomko2 Posted October 1, 2009 #119 Share Posted October 1, 2009 Sue, take those Spin to Win coupons to the casino and you will correct that deficiency in no time flat. Keychains are practically guaranteed.;) Ya think? We were on the Brilliance in August and I used both mine and my DH's coupons --- alas, no keychain. Fortunately ;) I have a drawer full of the RCI keychains from other cruises. Very happy that the incident in Cozumel did not result in injuries and that both vessels are underway. TahoeBob Posted October 1, 2009 #120 Share Posted October 1, 2009 Pizza and Coffee on all cruiseships is nothing to write home about. Carnival's could at least be called pizza. RCCL's was indeed Cardboard with sauce... I was on the Carnival Paradise last May, but I am sorry melted cheese on stale bread is not Pizza. Saying Carnival's could at least be called pizza is the same thing as taco bell selling Mexican food.

Rancher Dave Posted October 1, 2009 #122 Share Posted October 1, 2009 With both ships heading to Belize...I wonder if the captains will have words down in Belize... Carnival needs to send a paint crew to get RCCL back in order... I hope the captain from CCL is pulled from the ship in Belize, subject to drug testing etc... No excuse for such poor ship handling even with a sudden gust of wind.
