Oh! My! That's a very difficult goal to reach. I guess you've earned everything you get by that point! Wow! Again, congratulations, enjoy!!!!

Once your platinum there are milestones beyond that that give you cruise credit equal to those milestones. For example. On your 25th cruise you would get an onboard credit equal to 25% of the cruise fare. 50th cruise would be 50 % and 75 is 75%.

and if you manage to do the big 100....

And, for your 100th earn a complimentary Caribbean, Mexican Riviera or Alaskan voyage up to eight days in length.

Info obtain from the carnival site: http://www.carnival.com/cms/Static_Templates/carnival-past-guest-recognition.aspx

I have one cruise under my belt... Just 99 more to go for the free one!!!

Once we got started cruising it didn't take us long! :o Did it in 3 years......to us that was fast anyway. If we had thought about it a little more we would have done some 3 and 4 day b2b, instead did it with 5 and 7 day cruises. Just change a few things at home of what is most important and not nickle and dime away as much. Our gifts to each other during the year are cruises. Makes easy shopping! ;) The VIP embarktation to get on the ship quickly and the free laundry wash/fold are fantastic. Only send shorts, t shirts and such out, but that makes a huge difference in packing for b2b cruises! :D

Enjoy the journey getting there!

We thought the platinum colored stationery was tacky. Anyone can take a sheet of platinum paper, run thru a printer with someones name and call it stationery. Besides, who these days writes a letter on a cruise? Some other chachky would be nice!

I use the envelopes for that purpose. I would prefer the stationery without the computer imprint.

"Tacky" may be a bit strong, but I agree, the stationery was beautiful, but having a printer put your name on it in black print certainly didn't class it up much. :(

If they could somehow take the trouble to EMBOSS your RAISED name in the same color as the stationery, they'd have something. But, as momma said, "never look a gift horse in the mouth." :DI particularly enjoyed the VIP check-in and boarding and the FREE laundry.

Incidentally, I gotta kick out of the girls at the VIP check-in building this last cruise 3 weeks ago on the SPLENDOR. As I entered, I jokingly said, "I was looking for a big banner saying Welcome back, Gary". When embarkation starts these ladies work the embarkation building and much later to my surprise, three of them were standing there waiting for me to come through the line with a hand-written sign on an 8 X 11 sheet of paper saying,

WELCOME BACK

GARY

made my day.

1 more cruise until VIP for me . . . . I can't wait! 10 cruises went by so fast (with a few other cruises on other lines). I didn't think I vacationed that much but when you add up all my cruises, I'd say I've been pretty fortunate. :-)[/quote]

We all are...and sometimes I think some people forget that.

Wash & Fold Laundry is Great but be warned NOT to send anything that could possibly Shrink because it WILL! It seems that Everything is washed in HOT water. On my last cruise I sent a new pair of white pants that were 50/50 and they came back 2 inches shorter and 2 sizes smaller in the waist, I knew I had been eating more than I should but not that much + I didn't grow in heigth. :p

Not everyone likes the same things.

Someone is going to complain about something everytime there is something given "free".

Perhaps there should be a menu so you can chose what you want and what you think is too tacky for you? That might save us stockholders some profit money!

I'm platinum and I love everything I get!

We just turned platinum last week and reviewing the rewards here. The best was by far the free wash and fold laundry! We did a total of 5 loads - leave them in the cabin in the morning and they were done about 5-7 pm that same day. I will take far fewer clothes next time.

Free slot tournament is worth $20 each - that was fun, but we didn't win!

We missed the free canapes in the cabin as they called, we said later, they never brought. We don't really like them.

Free petit fours included choc covered strawberries - again, wouldn't have cared if we missed them. Various choc desserts in the buffet and at meals were better than that!

We won't use the pic frames - but they look nice.

The priority embarkation is wild - they take you to a private lounge where you sit on sofas, treats and drinks, and they bring you the sail and sign cards. Then they escort you to the front of the line (sorry, lots of "regular" folks were waiting in a long line and we were cut in!) and you go right through. Priority debarkation just means you can get off any time after ship is cleared. Still wait in lines with everyone else unless you go when it is first called (and we weren't in a hurry).

There is platinum colored stationery too. It looked nice.

Can't remember if there is anything else!

I agree. Platinum is nice

You can get off the ship first in port? Or is it just for the tenders? thank you

You get priority boarding on the tenders not at the docked ports..Dennis

BOTH.... Each and every time we need/want to get off the ship, regardless of whether or not it was docked or tender, we just go to the Guest Services Desk and one of the Carnival Representatives personally escort us to either the next tender or to the front of the line waiting to get off in port...

I generally use the stationery to write a thank-you note to the cabin attendant and the waiter and enclose a few extra $$$$ gratuity.

Great idea G'ma. I usually bring thank you notes for that purpose but will now plan on using the free stuff.

Also, thanks for the idea of separating out the laundry into whites and colored. I did learn on the first cruise to never send my bras and now I've learned another useful thing. We have never gotten the chocolate covered strawberries as our petit fours. Instead it has been a selection of little desserts. Think I would prefer the chocolate covered strawberries.

Everyone likes different things, that is what makes VIP so special. DW doesn't do the Casino, so I get to use both slot and black jack entrys. We love the canapes (shrimp, smoked salmon, etc.), but do not care for the petit fours. The free wash and fold, however, is our favorite perk, by far.:D
