Balcony cabin on the Main deck

The price of my cruise just went down again (woohoo!). We got a price adjustment, but now I"m wondering if maybe we should have kept the old price and got a balcony cabin on a higher deck. :confused:

 

Has anybody had a balcony cabin on the Main deck? What is it like? Is it worth a little more to be higher?

 

We have a mid-ship cabin now.

I've traveled on 3 cruises (Carnival Glory, Conquest and Destiny) and always had a balcony on the main deck (mid ship) All of these were just fine although the last cruise onthe Glory, I did hear a little bit of the Casino (ding, ding, ding) at times but nothing really that disturbing.

I dont know what cabin you are in but you could be over the piano bar and that is 1 place I would chose not to be.

We had a balcony on the main deck on the Miracle in Feb. I like it since I like being closer to the water. Have main deck balcony again this Nov and April 2010 on the Spirit and again on the Miracle next Nov. I don't think being higher up is worth more money.

Personally, I can sleep no matter where I am so I think it'd be fine!
