Castles Along the Rhine and Danube Aug.12,2010 Vantage Tour

Traveling Bearcat

Recommended Posts

We did this trip Sept - Oct. 2008 and thoughly enjoyed it. We liked seeing Europe from the river, and having the flexiblity to stay with the group or strike out on our own walking tour or do both, on shore excursions. We didn't miss the big ship entertainment. Do you have any specific questions? Also I would suggest you read and maybe post on the "River and Canal" Board under special interest cruising because there is one post close to the top on Vantage now and several vantage river cruisers who would also help ansewer your questions. Hope this helps.

Yes we were on Vantage. We thought they did an excellent job once we were on the trip. We had some communication problems with the home office before hand. We thought the River Odyssey was a lovely boat. We were in a "suite", so the room was decent sized. Others in the standard rooms seemed fine with beds and room size. In one way Vienna was my favorite because I had declined to go to Schonebrunn Palace when I was there when I was 19 and it was dream that I didn't think would come true that I would go back and see it. Otherwise it is hard to choose. Budapest is a very special wonderful city, but the oldtown centers of the smaller cities were charming each different, it is hard to choose. Be sure and take some time to wander around on your own, those are our favorite memories. Although the guides and group leaders were excellent.
