Guarantee - Veranda Worth The Risk?

I just notice that a Guarantee - Veranda on Millennium on January 22 is only $1279 CND. We are already booked with an inside and the difference is not that much. We have only ever cruised in an inside cabin and I thought I might surprise DW with a balcony when we got on the ship. Having never been in one what is the worst I could get with the guarantee veranda?

Well, you could get one with an obstructed view, or beneath the nightclub (are you light sleepers or early birds? :))...those sorts of things. If those types of scenarios wouldn't bother you, take the guarantee.

I sleep like a rock, but how bad is an obstructed view? Any one have pics?

How bad is the obstructed view? I don't mean to sound sarcastic, but it can't possibly be any worse than an inside which has no view :)

I don't really know of cabins on the M-Class ships that have obstructed views unless the window washing equiptment is nearby but even then it's not bad. I'd do it if I were you.

We had a cabin assignment on Celebrity's Infinity for an unobstructed view balcony but it was definitely obstructed. In your situation I would go for the Guarantee Balcony cabin. See my link to a photo of what the worst cabin you would get in a guarantee...probably won't happen to you and it will be worth it even if you got stuck in the situation we did in the photo.

I would definately go for the balcony. MUCH better than an inside room. It is great sitting on the balcony early in the morning or in he evening.

Definitely go for it! When you get your room assignment, if you aren't happy with it, you can switch for any available cabin in the same category at no charge/hassle. It is SO much better to have a balcony--you will NOT regret it!

I agree with Cathy. We just gambled on a Suite GTY last week and were assigned a SS that was only 4 cabins down from the SS we had originally booked and saved $800! Besides, she is right--if you don't like your cabin assignment when you get it, call =X= and change it. Don't wait too long to do it though in case your sailing sells out.

We are pretty seasoned cruisers and we ALMOST always book a guarantee. Go fot it!!!

Surprise your wife.....she'll be thrilled and you could end up in an excellent cabin!
