CruznisMagic Posted October 7, 2009 #1 Share Posted October 7, 2009 Hi, I need suggestions for our family for our pre cruise night. I have read tons of post and searched the thread and still, I'm unsure of where to stay. We will be driving to Galveston, so we will have a car. We have 4 children ages 11 to 3. We usually try to stay in a hotel that has two rooms. I priced HI Sunspree and HI on the Beach, each will be about $250 a night. What do you think, is that about the best I can do? Help ! Thank you in advance
bahama-momma Posted October 7, 2009 #2 Share Posted October 7, 2009 Are you able to use any of the special rates - such as - gov't rate,? did you check out - Expedia, Hotels.com - etc? or even try Priceline where you quote the price you want? just some ideas. I booked rooms at the Holiday Inn with my gov't rate for $99 per night and we'll be staying 2 nights. Good Luck with your search.
nrh322 Posted October 10, 2009 #3 Share Posted October 10, 2009 Give the Galvestonian a call! It's our favorite by a long stretch...a little off the beaten track, but not enough to worry about. They have all sorts of different room configurations.

everyotheryear Posted October 11, 2009 #5 Share Posted October 11, 2009 We have rooms booked at the Comfort Suites...they have rooms for 6 people...two queens and one pull out double. Then you could all get in one room...and free breakfast. The reviews of the hotel are pretty good...hope this helps.
huskerdude Posted October 11, 2009 #6 Share Posted October 11, 2009 Also check out Casa del Mar and Hawthorne Suites. They offer rooms that will hold six. A bedroom, bunkbeds and a sleeper sofa all in one room.
eastexascruiser Posted October 12, 2009 #7 Share Posted October 12, 2009 I second the vote for Comfort Inn and Suites. This works best for our family of 6. They have free breakfast and allow free parking during the cruise. If this isn't to your liking, try Expedia. The Hilton had rooms under $80 a couple weeks ago.
