Busy Day in Charlottetown!

Wow....came to work today to find three cruise ships parked in the harbor. Maasdam at the pier and NCL's Spirit and Costa Cruise Lines' Atlantica tendering in from their moorings. Quite a site for such a small harbor. The autumn colors are peaking right now and the weather should hold for their stay here today....rain and high winds coming later tonight.:)

Powderhorn- as a local in PEI, can you recommend what to do on our own? We'll be there on Saturday 10/17. At first, I thought that Anne was a must see and was thinking to head out to Cavendish on our own by hiring a car or going on a private excursion/tour. I had also been considering just spending time exploring Charlottetown and possibly doing bike rentals for a part of the day. We are a family of four and though DD 13 and I enjoy Anne, we are starting to think we can survive without it. Your thoughts please? Thank you.

I am not from PEI though I can see it from just down the road! I would recommend renting a car. The scenery is wonderful. I especially like the New London Bay and the drive through the National Park along the North Shore, starting in Cavendish and heading east. Charlottetown is quite small and has some historic sites, but to me cannot compare to the countryside. You can stop into Green Gables on your drive.

Hi!!

Also, I'd like to know which are Charlottetown's highlights..

Rent a car is not an option, so Im just planning to walk the town and do some sightseeing, have a drink,shop a little :p etc...
