Car Rental Holds

I have a question about "extra" holds that get put on your credit card when renting a car. In looking at the fine print it seems you get charged maybe $250 in addition to actual cost for the rental/taxes. And maybe charged isn't the right word, but I'm guessing that when you pick up the car they authorize the entire amount for the rental plus the extra amount.

 

Anyway, we have a car reserved in all 6 ports on our Hawaii cruise next April. Should we expect our "available" credit to be reduced by around a couple thousand dollars for all the rental charges (avg around $80/day x 7 days) plus around $250 extra per port (5 of them)?

 

I've rented a car before but not back to back to back like we will in Hawaii..so have not really paid attention to any extra hold amount before.
