hibiscus27 Posted October 9, 2009 #1 Share Posted October 9, 2009 Hello We'll be driving from Jacksonville to Miami for our Nov cruise. I'm comparing our options... If we rent a car in Jacksonville and drive it down to Miami, is there a place right at the Port of Miami (POM) where we can drop of the rental? Or how about a near by car rental place that provides a shuttle to the cruise terminal? And for the return trip... we'd need to rent another car and drive it up to Jax. Or would it be more cost effective just to drive our own car and park it at the POM? Thanks in advance!
TrentS Posted October 9, 2009 #2 Share Posted October 9, 2009 There are none AT the port. Hertz & Avis have offices in downtown Miami then you can take a cheap cab ride to the port, otherwise you can return to MIA. Some rental car companies have shuttles to the port, but it's much quicker to just take a taxi. MIA to Port of Miami is a flat rate of $24. ringram Posted October 9, 2009 #3 Share Posted October 9, 2009 Drop it off at MIA. The only car rental I'm unsure of is Enterprise, all other rental companies have free shuttle to POM. The wait for the free shuttles are no more than 20 minutes, usually 10 minutes. Then it's a 20 minute ride to POM.
