Hi

Just wondering if we should book this from the ship ($42.95 each) or should be just do a cab and proceed on our own. Will a cab take us to each of these places? Can we do all on our own? My husband does have walking issues and does not go fast / nor can he go long distances. Just wondering best way for us to do this.

Thanks

Pirates of Nassau & Historical Highlights Tour

“The best pirate attraction in the world” is how world pirate authority David Cordingly describes this attraction. Learn all about the pirates and see Nassau’s highlights on this combination tour.

On this excursion you will:

First stop at the Queen’s Staircase as your guide explains the significance of this creation and have the option to walk up to the top of the staircase and meet your taxi there.

Have the chance, while at the top of the staircase, to enjoy a brief visit to the Water Tower and Fort Fincastle.

Continue your tour, as you drive by Parliament Square, the Governor’s Mansion, Gregory’s Arch and some residential areas while your guide informs you about the island’s history along the way.

Pass by Cable Beach and while you stop at Fort Charlotte for a short break, enjoy the opportunity to take some photos of the outside of this historical fort.

Then, continue on to the Pirates of Nassau and discover what life must have been like on the high seas in the 1700’s.

See a three-quarter-length replica schooner, as she would have been in 1716.

Walk through the lower decks and you may come face to face with the likes of Blackbeard, Capt. Woodes Rodgers and the women pirates, Ann Bonny and Mary Read.

Experience the golden age of piracy, as it’s been recreated with exacting detail in an interactive attraction with your pirate guide leading the way.

Have the opportunity afterwards, to enter the courtyard where you can relax or purchase a pirate cocktail

Note: Suitable for all ages. The Water Tower’s elevator ride to the top is an additional 50 cents. Entrance into Fort Charlotte is not part of this excursion. On Sundays, Pirates of Nassau is open from 9am until 12:30pm; it takes approximately 45 minutes to tour the Pirates’ facility. You are responsible for your return to the ship, at your leisure (10 minute walk approximately). This excursion may operate in reverse order due to heavy traffic. Transportation used for this excursion is by taxi vans.

Does it cost a lot of money to visit each place listed? Can you purchase tickets at the locations?

Husband does have limited walking. So if we rent a taxi for our family how much would it cost to pay them for a "DAY" to show us around to these different loactions?

We have nevered booked through the cruise lines before. We usually do it on our own, but this time I am just nervous. Maybe because of the kids or something, just not sure.

Thank your for all your help.
