MSC Poesia 1st Timer Help Needed

Thinking of booking the Nov 15 to try out MSC so looking for input. Go a lot of Celebrity, RCCL, HAL, Princess.

Cabins available are on decks 12, 14, 15 forward and worried it's too far from the main things.

Do they do things unlike other cruiselines with tips, dinner, etc.

What time is late seating and where in the dining room is best to sit so not to be near wait stations, kitchen.

What should I be on the look to not to miss on board.

Any and all info is appreciated. Tx.:)

this is our first time with MSC too, we are booked cat 10 on the sailing before yours...Nov 10-15...late seating is about 8:30 pm, not sure which restaurant is better. there is a daily tip charge of $12 per person, where you can adjust if you choose to. it is Poesia's first trip to the Carib, so its pretty hard to get a feel on what it would be like. Unless you want a lower category, you'll be far away fr the "action". If you'd like to lounge on the pool, then you are closer. The restaurants are below deck while the buffets are near the pool. There's plenty of review of the Poesia in Europe, browse thru them and see if you are comfortable. We figured the price is right and how bad could it really be, then again, we are pretty easy going. Hope I helped. We are counting the days!!!

I'd say for an idea of what the cruise experience will be like - look at reviews for the Orchestra in the Caribbean last year. bear in mind that they had a number of teething issues on the earlier cruise before they made some additional adjustments. For specifics on the ship itself, then look at the European reviews of the Poesia (but remember what's free; meal times; passenger mix will be very different in the Caribbean)

Don't miss the gelato, pasta, chilled fruit soup and the shows. If you like spa treatments then also don't miss the balineses massage with hot volcanic stones - it's devine! Oh and the buffet magniofique on the last gala evening - eeven if you are not hungry - go just to be amazed at the food sculptures 9and take your camera)

On the plus side of being forward - you will be close to the gym, beauty salon, spa and pool (including bars and ice cream bar). Also you will be at the opposite end for the disco if you want an early night!

You don't get to choose the restaurant or your table location. You can make a preference for which seating and table size which they will do their best to accomodate but can't guarantee (if 80% of passengers want first - then some are going to be dissappointed). There are normally stations all around the restaurant and I've found that being close to the station has 2 distinct benefits - much hotter food and more attentive service - on the negative you get a bit of clattering of plates and cutlery.
