Quickly pls: Upgrade from BG 7684 to BA 10180 Pride of America

Due to recent price drops 5 weeks from sailing, I have been offered an upgrade to 3 decks above my current reservation, both stern balconies, BG to BA..

I kind of liked the idea of being on deck 7 in 7684, one deck above the restaurants, easier access for leaving the ship etc. I've read that it's possibly loud being just below the outdoor buffet on deck 11 if we switch to 10180.

Please give me your comments. I do not know if I can stop the process, so need input quickly. Thanks

and it appears that the stern balconies on deck 10 are almost totally open to the sun (and viewing from the outdoor buffet). It looks as if those on deck 7 are in the shade which might be preferable since I've had 3 skin cancers. Help!

It also appears that the balcony on deck 10 is a little smaller than the central one on deck 7 becaise of the curve of the ship. Central seems better for viewing of both NaPali coast and active volcano since I might be able to see both sides while standing at the railing.

You really sound like you prefer the cabin you have booked. if so keep it. I am sure you will be happy either way. and if something is on the other side of the ship just go to the other side of the promenade and see it.

I have no first hand experience but isn't this one of those aft balconys that everyone always wants?

Both of them are on the stern, or as they say around here, "the aft." It's just 3 decks up from the one I originally had.

I hope someone has stayed on deck 10 and can tell me any cons concerning the sun and more public view from the buffet, vs the shaded deck 7 balcony not visible (I think but do not know!) Thanks

You will be exposed to a little more sun because your so close to top of ship. As for size your talking unnoticable difference. However I'd be more concerned of being under the cafe due to noise and the moving of chairs and tables around early morning for set up.

Plus you could have something land on the balcony from people accidentally dropping stuff which has happened to us on almost every cruise, but we have never been hit with anything and it wouldn't stop us from booking aft cabins.

Thanks for responding. I have read about food dropping onto balconies before (from Aft Lover who said when they hose down the buffet deck the water with junk in it goes right onto your balcony, but she was on another cruiseline, but I'd guess it might be the same on NCL). Since both are stern balconies, I certainly am not interested in stopping booking an aft! ha Have one booked on Dawn next September, but there is no outdoor buffet above it.

Has anyone been IN cabin 10180 or thereabouts and can comment about how much covering the cabin has? Or anyone who has been in 7684 who can tell me if it is almost all covered (I think I read that somewhere that there's more privacy since only standing at the railing are you visible from the balconies above you). Thanks
