minnesotalady Posted October 23, 2009 #2 Share Posted October 23, 2009 What food items are in the Buffet? Is it a similar set up like Las Vegas hotels buffets? Buffets on the ships we have been on change some each day. Las Vegas style buffets, no, I would say somewhat better in some ways. If you like buffet food, it would be great. For breakfast could be a good choice. Lunch, would be a maybe. Dinner, not for us. We eat in the MDR or Steakhouse. This is just our opinion! jobster71 Posted October 23, 2009 #3 Share Posted October 23, 2009 I say it is comparable to your local Western Sizzler or Golden Corral on one side and one side serves "Taste of the Nation" Different theme daily like Italian, chocolate, Caribbean, Indian. Then you have different stations like a burrito bar, omelet station, Mongolian barbecue, Chinese food, and a deli depending on your ship. They also have a grill that has hamburgers, grilled chicken and hot dogs. there is also the 24 hr pizza and salads. Also ice cream and yogurt stations. Sushi Japanese Omelet Maki Roll Mackerel and Portobello Roll Hot Corn Chowder Maryland Charred Half Spring Chicken Grilled Jumbo Tiger Shrimps with Beurre Blanc Cinnamon Pumpkin, Squash, Yam and Cheddar Pot Pie Lemon Confit Topped Grouper Fillet Honey glazed Virginia Ham — Carving Penne Siciliana Roasted Cauliflower – Steak Fries – Baked Potato Dessert Amaretto Cake – Diet Cheesecake – Date and Walnut Cake Raspberry Chocolate Gateau – Apricot Mascarpone Cream – Apple Gelee Warm Chocolate Melting Cake Sliced Watermelon – Sliced Cantaloupe – Sliced Honeydew Sliced Pineapple – Orange Fillets – Whole Fruit Seems pretty good to me... I've eaten at the buffet on a number of occasions and have always been able to find something that I enjoyed. Is it perfect? Heck no! To be perfect they'd have to have the chef from the supper club cook for the buffet!!! :)
jobster71 Posted October 23, 2009 #6 Share Posted October 23, 2009 I've never been hungry on a cruise. Always something to enjoy. The dinning room also serves breakfast and lunch. The buffet is fine with great selections. We love taking the food outside and watch for dolphins, the view is priceless.
jeshghn Posted October 23, 2009 #7 Share Posted October 23, 2009 There is also a small pasta bar each night and like the MDR you can ask for chicken or steak..... These are not display so you do have to wait while they cook it. The point is there is more then enough food to eat!
